  2. Office of Research Ethics and Integrity

    Any research project involving human participants or human biological material conducted within the jurisdiction or under the auspices of the University of Ottawa, whether it is funded or not and regardless of where it is conducted, must receive ethics approval from a University Research Ethics Board (REB) prior to the start of the project.

  3. Ethics review

    Article 2.1. The following requires ethics review and approval by an REB before the research commences. Research involving: a) living human participants; b) human biological materials, as well as human embryos, fetuses, fetal tissue, reproductive materials and stem cells. This applies to materials derived from living and deceased individuals.
