The formula to calculate the chance of at least one item being on the board as follows:

This multiplies the chance to not get the roll you want as many times as it can roll, and then subtracts that chance from 1 to see how often you would get it.

Note that TotalWeight does not include the weights of powerups, as those are rolled separately, and 2 are guaranteed on every board. This is also why the total slot count subtracts a possible pair roll.

Item-related formulas:

The formula for the average amount of times a pair roll shows up per board is as follows:

Since these are for pair rolls, multiplying by 2 shows how many times the items show up overall.

Powerups have a similar but simpler formula:

Chronomatron Completion Rewards image

Chronomatron Completion Rewards

A visual and auditory memory game in which the player must memorize a sequence of color-coded "notes" and recite them. When the player successfully recites the sequence, the same sequence is played with an additional note added onto the end. The game ends when the player misses a note or completes 49 note chains, although the player is rewarded for completing at most 15 note chains. There are various tiers of this experiment:

Superpairs

  • A solver mod and good reaction time can cheese the Experimentation Table.
  • The player used to be able to receive the +3 click bonus on every difficulty, not just Metaphysical. This bug was patched in 0.19.4.
  • This means that even if the player passes more than 15 notes on the Chronomatron, they will receive only a maximum of 90,000 XP at most (on Metaphysical difficulty) and similar with 140,000 XP for the Ultrasequencer.
  • It used to be possible to use an insta-find power-up on another power up, which would not trigger the effect, this was later patched [More Info Needed] .
  • Bits spent on renewing experiments used to not give the player Fame . This was later patched [More Info Needed] .
  • If the server the player is on reboots while the player is playing Chronomatron or Ultrasequencer, they will lose their progress. Players can restart, but the addons will be treated as if the player had never started it. Players are advised to wait for a bit If the servers are rebooting for an update.
  • There are several mods that make Chronomatron and Ultrasequencer easier such as Danker's Skyblock Mod , the ExperimentationTable module in Chattriggers , and NEU . Note that enabling more than one of these modules at once may cause issues such as double-clicking which would fail the addons.
  • The Ultrasequencer will always have each number follow a specific set of colors, allowing it to be solved more easily without the need of mods. The pattern of colors goes from white, light blue , blue , purple , magenta , pink , red , orange , yellow, lime green, green, and cyan. Once the player finishes 12 rounds, the color pattern will repeat for the next 12 and so on until the entire board is solved.
  • It used to be possible to get more than one pair of Titanic Experience Bottles while playing Superpairs, with no visual indication of which items belong to which pair. This forced players to rely on luck when trying to pair these bottles. This was however later patched [More Info Needed]
  • It is possible to obtain multiple tiers of the same enchantment in the same Superpairs, for example Smite V and Smite VII .

Enchanting library

One-block tall maximal enchanting library

An item can be enchanted by using an enchanting table and placing the item in the input slots and 1–3 Lapis Lazuli in its dedicated slot. Upon placing the item, three (pseudo)randomized options appear on the right of the GUI. The glyphs here do not affect the enchantment, but hovering over a presented enchantment shows one enchantment to be applied (on mobile devices, the player can tap an enchantment before putting in the Lapis Lazuli or hold the enchantment before release). The only choices available have a level requirement equal to or below the player's current level and a Lapis Lazuli requirement equal to or below the number of lapis lazuli placed in the table. Each option imbues the item with a randomized set of enchantments that are dependent on the number of experience levels required (e.g. a level 10 enchantment can give a pickaxe the "Efficiency II" enchantment); the actual level cost and the number of Lapis Lazuli required have no effect.

Although the player must have at least the level requirement to get an enchantment, the number of levels that the player is charged is the same as the Lapis Lazuli requirement. For example, if the third enchantment listed is a level 30-50 enchantment, the player must have at least 30 levels, while paying only 3 levels and 3 Lapis Lazuli.

The level requirement influences the quantity, type, and level of enchantments instilled in the item, with a higher experience level generally resulting in more and/or higher-level enchantments. Nevertheless, there is a significant random factor, and even a level 30 enchantment (the maximum) doesn't guarantee more than one enchantment, or even that enchantments are "maximum strength" — a level 30 enchantment can still yield Fortune II or Efficiency III alone, for example.

To increase the enchantment level, bookshelves should be placed next to the enchanting table while keeping one block of air between them. Placing any block between the enchantment table and the bookshelves - even a transparent one like a torch - prevents the table from connecting with the shelves. To gain access to the previously mentioned level 30 enchantments, a total of 15 bookshelves need to be placed around the enchanting table. See the enchantment mechanics page for more detailed information on this.

The enchanting table is 3 ⁄ 4 blocks high.

If an enchanting table is placed on ice , the player slides on it as though it is an ice block, just like with slabs .‌ [ Java Edition only ] [ verify ]

Despite comprising largely of obsidian , they are not immune to destruction by the ender dragon . [1]

Enchanting [ ]

Enchanting Table GUI

Enchanting interface.

The enchanting table's main purpose is to enchant items. The table can enchant all tools, armor and gear except‌ [ Bedrock Edition only ] shears , flint and steel , carrot on a stick , warped fungus on a stick , shield , carved pumpkin , mob head , lead , compass , recovery compass , and horse armor ; all of these (excluding leads and horse armor) can instead be enchanted using an anvil and an appropriate enchanted book .

When a bookshelf is placed next to an enchanting table (with one block of air in between) it increases the maximum enchantment level. There must be 15 bookshelves around the enchanting table in order to obtain the maximum enchantment level of 30. See enchantment mechanics for more specific details.

Light source [ ]

Enchanting tables emit a light level of 7.

Standard Galactic Alphabet [ ]

Glyphs flowing from the bookshelves animation.

The arcane glyphs that float from bookshelves to the enchanting table and the cryptic runes in the enchanting table's interface are written in the Standard Galactic Alphabet , which is a simple alphabet substitution cipher used in the Commander Keen series of computer games.

Standard Galactic Alphabet

The arcane glyphs cannot be seen if "particles" in the video settings is set to "minimal".

The cryptic runes seen in the interface are randomly constructed from the following list of words:

  • phnglui‌ [ JE only ]
  • mglwnafh‌ [ JE only ]
  • cthulhu‌ [ JE only ]
  • rlyeh‌ [ JE only ]
  • wgahnagl‌ [ JE only ]
  • fhtagn‌ [ JE only ]
  • baguette‌ [ JE only ]

Three to five words are chosen from the list and appended to each other, then displayed in the Standard Galactic Alphabet. Although sometimes the words chosen accidentally refer to mobs like Blazes and Elder Guardians, the words chosen are random and purely cosmetic; they have no relation to the enchantments to be applied to the item and are not saved on the enchanted item (meaning they say nothing about the spell's identity), and they are displayed only in the enchanting table. Only the cost and one of the enchantments are known.

Custom name [ ]

By default, the GUI of an enchanting table is labeled "Enchant", but this name can be customized by naming the enchanting table in an anvil before placing it or by changing the CustomName tag using the / data command‌ [ Java Edition only ] .

Note Blocks [ ]

Enchanting tables can be placed under note blocks to produce "bass drum" sounds.

Piston interactivity [ ]

Enchanting tables cannot be pushed by pistons . They also cannot be pushed nor pulled by sticky pistons .

Black Runes

Black-textured particles are "fired" into the bookshelves, which later emit the corresponding particle to the enchanting table. (Visible on the red book on the top-left bookshelf, and above the green book on the bottom-left bookshelf, and in the animation farther up the page as a brief flicker).

  • The enchanting table actually produces the particles emitted from the bookshelves. These particles originate inside the enchanting table and are relocated to the bookshelf almost immediately, but travel slow enough to be briefly visible. The particle that enters and leaves the bookshelf is always the same "letter", but the ones traveling into the bookshelves are black.
  • Enchanting tables are mostly made of obsidian, and thus have a blast resistance of 1,200 and cannot be destroyed by TNT , although they can still be mined by any pickaxes.
  • Enchanting tables are midway between slabs and full blocks height-wise, so they could be potentially used as a TNT cannon's range-amplifier instead of slabs or trapdoors.
  • The enchanting table always opens its book toward the player, even when the player is invisible.
  • On October 1, 2011, Notch tweeted an image of the enchantment screen, with enchantments. [6] The first enchantment translates into "Well Played Internets You Are Good", the second translated into "These Names Will Be Random And Confusing", and the third translates to "Each Spell Costs Experience Levels".
  • Three of the possible words for enchantments are "the elder scrolls," likely a joke at Bethesda, creator of "The Elder Scrolls" series and whose parent company, Zenimax, attempted to sue Mojang for the name of their game Scrolls.
  • The words "klaatu berata niktu" are a (misspelled) reference to " Klaatu barada nikto ", a phrase that originates from the 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still and has been since used as a reference in many other movies, cartoons and games.
  • Similarly, "Xyzzy" is a magic spell in the game "Colossal Cave Adventure" and has been used in several other games as an Easter Egg or cheat code.
  • The word "embiggen" is a fictional word coined by The Simpsons quote: "A Noble Spirit Embiggens the Smallest Man".
  • The words "phnglui mglwnafh cthulhu rlyeh wgahnagl fhtagn" are a quote from H. P. Lovecraft's short story " The Call of Cthulhu ." Said quote is a prayer in the Cthulhu mythos. The complete and correct quote is "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", which translates to "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming."
  • Of the list of words that the enchanting table uses, none of the words contain the letters "J" or "Q". Although they are not used in the words, they do have a symbol attached to them, and can be seen moving from the bookshelf and the table.

Ultimate guide: craft & use enchantment tables in hypixel skyblock.

In the expansive world of Hypixel Skyblock, mastering the art of enchanting is a quest that every player embarks upon. The enchantment table, a mystical piece of equipment, is at the core of this journey. In this comprehensive guide, we will unveil the secrets of crafting and utilizing enchantment tables effectively in Hypixel Skyblock to enhance your gameplay experience.

Unleashing Magical Powers: Enchanting in Hypixel Skyblock

Crafting the enchantment table.

The first step to entering the world of enchanting is crafting your enchantment table. A blend of obsidian, diamonds, and a book is the recipe for this magical table. Specifically, you'll need 4 obsidian blocks, 2 diamonds, and 1 book. This combination will conjure the enchantment table, your gateway to a plethora of powerful enchantments.

Detailed Crafting Process

Gather 4 obsidian blocks, which can be mined from the deepest parts of the Skyblock universe, ensuring you have a diamond or higher grade pickaxe. Next, mine 2 diamonds, a gem that adds the magical touch to your table. Finally, craft a book using 3 papers and one leather. Arrange these items in the crafting table interface, with the book at the top, diamonds in the middle, and obsidian forming the base to craft your enchantment table.

The Power of Bookshelves

In the realm of Hypixel Skyblock, the potency of your enchantments is influenced by the Bookshelf Power. Surrounding your enchantment table with bookshelves or enchanted bookshelves amplifies this power. Each regular bookshelf boosts the Bookshelf Power by one level, while enchanted bookshelves grant a whopping 15 levels.

Maximizing Bookshelf Power

To optimize the enchanting process, strategically place your bookshelves around the enchantment table. Remember, there should be one block of air between the table and the bookshelves to activate their power. Achieving 20 Bookshelf Power unlocks access to all enchantments, provided you have them in your arsenal. The placement and type of bookshelves play a pivotal role in determining the strength and variety of available enchantments.

Mastering the Art of Enchanting

The enchantment table in Hypixel Skyblock is not just about adding magical properties to your weapons and tools but also about the strategic removal of enchantments. The variety and levels of enchantments available are governed by your enchanting skill level and the accumulated Bookshelf Power.

Cost and Benefit Analysis

Every enchantment comes at a cost, and this cost is consistent across all items, depending solely on the enchantment and its level. As you delve deeper into the world of enchanting, understanding the dynamics of cost and benefit becomes crucial to maximizing the effectiveness of your enchanted items. Balancing the enchantment levels with the associated costs ensures that you achieve optimal efficiency in your gameplay.

The Experimentation Table

Beyond the traditional enchantment table lies the experimentation table, a rare piece of non-cosmetic furniture that offers enchanting XP, enchanted books of levels 3-7, and experience bottles. Crafted with 8 oak wood, 6 lapis lazuli, and 1 glass bottle, the experimentation table is a treasure trove of enchanting resources.

Daily Games and Rewards

Players can engage in daily games on the experimentation table, with rewards resetting at 12:00 AM GMT. These mini-games are not just a source of enchanting materials but also an exciting break from the intense atmosphere of Hypixel Skyblock. The rewards garnered from these games can significantly boost your enchanting prowess, making the experimentation table a must-have for serious enchanters.

Enchanting Strategies

Enchanting is not a random process but a strategic endeavor. The superpairs game, a part of the experimentation table, is akin to the matching games of our childhood, but with a twist. Instead of matching animals or shapes, players match enchanting XP and enchanted books.

Leveling Up and Gaining Rewards

Higher tiers of superpairs and additional games like cronomatron and ultrasequencer become available as players level up their enchanting skills. These games are not just about earning rewards but also about strategizing to maximize the gains from each match. Mastering these games can lead to a rapid enhancement of your enchanting skills and a rich collection of powerful enchanted books.

The Enchanted Books

In the world of Hypixel Skyblock, enchanted books hold the keys to powerful enchantments. Tier 7 enchanted books, containing enchantments like sharpness 7 and critical 7, are rare gems that can significantly boost your combat prowess. These books are not just tools but treasures that can be sold for substantial amounts in the game’s economy.

The Market for Enchanted Books

Understanding the market dynamics for enchanted books can lead to profitable trades and alliances. Keep an eye on the market trends, and be ready to trade, buy, or sell enchanted books to augment your resources and strengthen your position in the Hypixel Skyblock universe.

Mastering the art of enchanting in Hypixel Skyblock is a journey of strategic crafting, thoughtful placement of bookshelves, and skillful gaming on the experimentation table. Each enchanted item is a masterpiece, a blend of skill, strategy, and a dash of magic. As you step into the enchanting world of Hypixel Skyblock, let this guide be your compass, leading you to the mystical enchantments that await.

With these items, arrange them so that the book is at the top of your crafting table, the obsidian in an upside-down ‘T’ pattern, and the diamonds on the left and right sides. The two corner spaces should be blank. This recipe gives you one enchanting table, which you can place and break using a pickaxe.

Next, you’ll need 15 bookshelves for the ideal enchanting table setup. Each table requires three books and six wood, which means you need the following items to make all 15:

  • 90 planks, or one stack plus 26 additional blocks

Use these in your crafting table so the three books are in the center row, with the six planks on top and below. This recipe makes one bookshelf, so divide everything evenly to get 15 blocks total.

Now that you have your bookshelves and enchanting table, place them wherever you wish in your world using the setup above to gain access to level 30 enchantments. You can now use any weapons and armor in the enchanting table alongside lapis to apply enchants to them.
