HIT movie review: Vishwak Sen stands out in an engaging suspense thriller; Sailesh Kolanu makes promising debut

If you love crime dramas, HIT is a thrilling experience, which falters a bit in the end.

HIT (Homicide Interventionn Team) follows the journey of Vikram Rudraraju, a tough cop, who takes over a case to trace the whereabouts of a missing girl named Preethi.

It is staged like a thriller since Vikram is also racing against time to find his longtime girlfriend Neha (Ruhani Sharma), who disappears in a similar fashion. The rest of the story is about how Vikram solves the case, and unravels the mystery behind what happened to the two.

The premise of the story might sound quite familiar but the difference lies in how newcomer Sailesh Kolanu, who wrote and directed the film, treats the characters, and evokes a sense of dread every now and then. The focus of the storytelling is as much on solving a puzzle as is about the emotional toll it takes on its protagonist. This changes the texture of the film and makes every reaction, every haunting memory, and even fire, brim out with details which are necessary to understand what drives the protagonist.

It is not just another suspense thriller which gives you some details about a crime, leaving vital clues for the finale. In fact, the method in which Vikram solves the case becomes secondary in the larger scheme of things, because Sailesh keeps pushing you to get inside Vikram’s head and listen to the voice, which keeps telling him to expect the worst. For someone who gets panic attacks, just from the mere sight of fire, there is a reason why Vikram’s approach always has a sense of urgency. He does not want to witness another nightmare in front of his eyes because the scars of his past are still fresh in his mind.

This is also applicable to us because a significant part of the story is set in the outer ring road of Hyderabad, where a young girl finds herself stranded and looking for help. The horrific true crime from December 2019 in Hyderabad, the memories of which are still fresh in our minds, casts its shadow all over the film. Thankfully, the film does not exploit the real incident but triggers a visceral reaction subconsciously.

What makes HIT  engrossing is how it treats the lead character. Vikram, who suffers from post-traumatic stress, relies on Valium to keep his sanity. His insomnia and anger make him restless. The roadblocks which he keeps facing at every turn manifold his frustration. Quite rarely has a character been developed to this extent in recent times. Sailesh Kolanu fills plenty of details in the script to give us a clear picture of Vikram’s fears, nightmares, and also, his intelligence. He has a nose for crime, which helps him solve mysteries quickly, although some people in the police department do not like his attitude.

For a film that has very few jump-scares or adrenaline-pumping moments, Kolanu still manages to make HIT an immersive experience. Vishwak Sen is in terrific form as Vikram Rudraraju. He maintains the intensity in his performance till the end. Ruhani Sharma fits the part quite well. Although she has very little screen time, she makes it count each time she appears on screen. The rest of the cast fit in their respective roles quite well.

In a film where there is so much to soak in, perhaps the only loose thread is its climax. This is the only element in the story which jolts you out of a terrific experience. It comes across like an odd fit from the rest of the story.

HIT is also one of the few Telugu films in recent years, which demand your attention both visually and aurally.

Cinematographer Manikandan keeps it real in terms of his choice of lighting and colour palette, which accentuates the grim mood of the narrative. There is not a single frame which looks out of place or stylish just for the sake of it. Perhaps, it is meant to reflect Vikram’s state of mind because as tough as he might be, he also fears the worst each time. Even the romantic portions between Vishwak and Ruhani have a sepia tone to evoke a nostalgic feeling.

Vivek Sagar’s background score is outstanding. He fills the world of HIT with so much dread, with a unique composition of soundtrack, it makes the whole film quite engrossing. And Garry, editor, deserves equal praise for maintaining the tempo of the narrative.

Kolanu makes a promising debut with this moody suspense thriller. There is no denying he is a talent to watch out for. I could not help but think of Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners , a 2013 suspense drama about a father’s search for his missing daughter. Towards the end of that film, Hugh Jackman finds himself trapped in a basement with no way of escaping. In HIT , Vikram Rudraraju is still a prisoner of his past, but one can only wonder if he has found a closure.

A big thumbs up for the film. If you love crime dramas, HIT is a thrilling experience, which falters a bit in the end.

The Telugu crime thriller genre took a new turn with the success of “Hit”. Seeing the craze for it, the makers of “Hit” have decided to make it a franchise and thus came the second installment “Hit 2: Second Case.” Adivi Sesh has already become popular for this kind of thrillers. So, naturally, “HIT 2” generated excitement and buzz.

Let’s find out how this film has shaped up.

Story: KD (Adivi Sesh) is a police officer in Vizag's Homicide Department. He is in a relationship with Aarya, a social worker (Meenakshii Chaudhary). Sanjana, a pub employee, is brutally murdered. KD and his team discover that the only head is Sanjana's, and the rest of the body parts belong to different women. A serial killer is on the loose.

KD's further investigation reveals that many women were also killed, and all of the women were linked to a women's organisation that Aarya is assisting.

Who was responsible for such heinous crimes? Why has the killer developed such disgust for women?

Artistes’ Performances: It has already been established that Adivi Sesh possesses the skills and personality required for such thrillers. As an investigative officer, he not only fits in well, but he also performs admirably to keep us engaged throughout. He also controls the film at times.

Meenakshii Chaudhary's character is forgettable. Komalee Prasad's role as Adivi Sesh's assistant is neat. Suhaas is quite impressive. The character of Rao Ramesh does not have much impact.

Other actors, such as Harsha Vardhan, play important roles in the story but are given limited screen time.

Technical Excellence: The film is set in Vizag, and instead of focusing on the usual beauty of the beach city, cinematographer S Manikandan captures the mood required for crime thrillers. His work is excellent.

The songs (composed by Sreelekha and Bobbili) aren't enjoyable, but the background music by John Stewart Eduri is. It sets the right tone and adds a touch of eeriness. The editing is sharp.

Analysis "HIT 2" is the second instalment in the series, and a third is on the way. So, director Sailesh Kolanu has created a universe for the franchise by including sequences from the first film and ending the film with a lead to the third. This demonstrates how confident the director and team are in the content they have in their hands. The film, true to their confidence, holds our attention until the end, thanks to its gripping narrative and concise length.

The film, like the first, revolves around an investigative officer attempting to solve a murder case. It's not just one murder here. The protagonist's mission is to find a serial killer who only kills women. So, the film begins with the establishment of the protagonist's job in Vizag and a gruesome murder.

The film follows the protagonist as he attempts to solve the case while also suspecting innocent people. One interesting thing the writing and directing team did with this film was to reveal the killer early on. However, director Kolanu has successfully kept our attention until the end in order to reveal the true identity of the killer.

Despite some repetition in the screenplay, the intensive narrative keeps the audience's attention. The second half of such thrillers is crucial, and the film succeeds here. The first clue of dental marks in the first murder is correctly linked in the end.

The film has one interesting episode that keeps the audience interested. It is a suspect's encounter. This section is handled superbly.

On the negative side, the film contains some disturbing images. These images are both gruesome and graphic violence. A close depiction like this should have been avoided. And the thread connecting Meenakshii and Adivi Sesh is uninteresting. Meenakshi's mother role serves little purpose. Rao Ramesh's role is also underdeveloped. There are also some loose sequences.

Overall, "Hit 2" is a solid investigative thriller that checks all the boxes. Despite its flaws, the film maintains viewer interest throughout. It nearly hits the target.

After the critically acclaimed 'AWE', 'Natual Star' Nani and Prashanthi Tripirneni have now produced the movie, 'HIT'. Starring Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the leads, this movie has hit the screens today. Will the movie turn out to be a 'hit' at the box-office? Read our review. 

Vikram ( Vishwak Sen ) is a police officer suffering from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) because of which he experiences panic attacks often. His girlfriend Neha (Ruhani Sharma) works in forensic department. While the cops are investigating the missing case of a girl named Preethi, Neha also goes missing. Vikram takes up both the cases and during the course of the investigation, he finds out some shocking facts.

Performances

Viswak Sen surprises with his performance. He is excellent in a role that requires him to show his acting skills. Ruhani Sharma does a good job. Murali Sharma gets an important role and needless to say, the versatile actor does complete justice. Hari Teja and others are good. 

Technical aspects

The production values are excellent. The screenplay is engaging. The background score is electrifying and makes this thriller exciting to watch.

'HIT' is an engagingly narrated movie. Though the story line is wafer-thin, the screenplay and the electrifying background score make it intriguing. The suspense factor is maintained well and the film doesn't bore the audiences. But the big reveal at the end may not excite the audiences much.

All in all, 'HIT' is a fairly engrossing thriller with a paper-thin story.

‘HIT 2’ movie review: Adivi Sesh scores in a taut cop drama that paves the way for a ‘HIT Universe’

With an impressive adivi sesh at the fore, director sailesh kolanu delivers an engrossing cop drama with ‘hit: the second case’ and sets the stage for ‘hit 3’.

In the pre-intermission segment of the Telugu film HIT: The Second Case or HIT 2 , we see Krishna Dev aka KD (Adivi Sesh), a slightly laidback cop, being challenged like never before. With limited powers at his disposal, he has to think one step ahead to change the course of events. Pushed to the edge and wanting to stay on the right side of the moral compass, he does something that elicits whistles in the cinema hall. The ‘HIT Universe’ or ‘HIT-verse’, which writer and director Sailesh Kolanu is creating, has smart-thinking cop protagonists who do not rely on brawn power. Telugu cinema could do with more of these narratives.

The second film in the HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) franchise is a study in contrast with the first one. The setting moves to Visakhapatnam from Hyderabad and in place of the brooding cop Vikram Rudraraju (Vishwak Sen) grappling with post traumatic stress while trying to solve a tough case, is the cool KD who has a smart alec manner of speaking and is a chai addict. Visiting a crime scene can wait for a few minutes, first chai!

Manikandan’s camera captures the airy expanse of Vizag in wide frames and the unhurried pace of the city in the opening portions.

HIT 2 (HIT: The Second Case)

HIT 2 has a tightly woven, two-hour narrative that presents a chapter in the life of police officer KD. The different aspects of his life unravel smoothly. KD’s romance with Aarya (Meenakshi Chaudhary) deals with live-in relationships matter-of-factly and the couple’s exchange of words with Aarya’s mother (played by Geetha Bhascker) has some fun moments. At work, KD uses his sarcasm to counter his superior (Rao Ramesh), and the equation he shares with his small team has room for both trust and friction.

Abhilash (Maganti Srinath), who we saw in HIT 1 , makes his presence felt here as well. HIT 2 works well as a standalone film but for those who have seen the first one, Sailesh places a few Easter eggs to link the HIT Universe and spotting them amplifies the entertainment quotient.

A tonal shift happens when Vizag is jolted by a gruesome murder that brings to the fore questions of women’s safety. The story has several tropes associated with the genre — a psychopath killer on the loose, his motive that stems from a twisted understanding of women, and the plight of hapless victims and their families. KD, his trusted dog Max, and his team which includes forensic officer Varsha (Komalee Prasad) discover that the crime is murkier than they had imagined. It is appreciable that the film does not get voyeuristic as it depicts the gruesome incidents.

The story makes an emphatic statement about police encounters turning into a tool of public appeasement. The mood gets grim by the minute and KD trades his laidback nature with an urgency to make the city safer. The brick-walled spacious villa inhabited by KD, which once served as a romantic setting, turns eerie. John Stewart Eduri’s background score fills these frames with a sense of dread. 

Newer characters are introduced during the investigation and it is easy to connect the threads and guess the killer and his motives. This aspect of the story could have been smarter. The film does not lose steam, but the hallmark of a crackling thriller would be to keep the audiences on the edge of their seat and spring a surprise by connecting clues that are hiding in plain sight for that wow moment. 

HIT 1 , whose protagonist used his Sherlock-ian knowledge and observation to crack cases, was more cerebral in its investigation. The final reveal happened through a new subplot that the audience would have had no way of guessing. HIT 2 does a better job of weaving in the sub plot of the killer’s motives but still, could have been sharper.

However, the way the climax portion taps KD’s sharp tongue, even if it isn’t politically correct, keeps us invested. The final portions also tap into the emotional side of Adivi Sesh as an actor and he is impressive. His characterisation gives him the scope to be suave, sometimes nasty and at times romantic and he digs in with delight, owning both his character and the film. Meenakshi Chaudhary has a good screen presence and her character is thankfully not a prop. In the brief part assigned to her, Komalee Prasad makes an impression.

HIT 2 ends on a high note, offering a glimpse of the star actor who will take centre stage in HIT 3 as a ruthless cop. The HIT Universe holds immense promise and it will be interesting to see what Sailesh Kolanu has in store. Earlier this year, Tamil cinema raised the bar with LCU (or Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe) through the Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram in which Lokesh linked his earlier film Kaithi and set the stage for a larger universe. Similarly, HIT-verse can be an interesting addition to Telugu cinema and calls for smart, sharp writing.

Hit: The First Case Movie Review: Rajkummar Rao Leads An Engaging Whodunnit That Deserved A Much More Nuanced Climax

What’s Good: Rajkummar Rao makes you believe in his world and that even the slight melo-drama is justified because of him is good. Also, half the plot is pretty amazing.

What’s Bad: The reward that we get after investing so much. It could have been more edged and layered.

Loo Break: The movie does get into the basic Whodunnit clichés, that is your time.

Watch or Not?: If you have seen the original, I have been told this is almost the same. If you haven’t, you can give it a chance or wait for its OTT release.

A man named Vikram (Rajkummar) is suffering from PTSD due to past traumas and that is slowly killing him. When he takes a break from his police job, his girlfriend and a stranger girl disappear. The cop is back on duty and begins the movie.

HIT Movie Review: Script Analysis

How do you talk about a suspense thriller whose first frame in itself is a suspense without giving spoilers? I am going to try. Well, the main job of a whodunnit is to kind of turn its audience into pseudo-Sherlock Holmes and get on the journey with the film while holding them till the very end. The last film that managed to do it with full marks and a glorious reward was Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun and it’s already remade in all possible languages.

Hit: The First Case isn’t at par with Andhadhun, but isn’t very weak either. The premise of the movie is pretty strong and what adds the right flavour is Sailesh Kolanu’s screenplay. He is in no rush to tell you things because in his mind he is creating a franchise and he has a lot of time to tell his desires narrative. Now, I haven’t seen the original Telugu version, so I don’t know if the approach is same as the filmmaker is.

Sailesh’s writing is influenced by the Whodunnit that revolves around a case with no clues. But his style is highly influenced by the television form of drama and he kind of even brings that to his product. Like even the opening shot, and what follows. But he even somehow managed to make it all work and that is what is important. I won’t be able to explain further without spoilers.

Of course he resorts to clichéd plot lines and refuges at many points. He even goes on to point out many things around him. The fear of safety in women, the societal gaze and judgement over their choice of clothes and so on. But forgets to take those point to conclusion. What he also forgets is that when remaking, you can also rectifying or enhance your own product. Isn’t it kind of a second chance or boon? The climax and everything involved in it seems very lazy and half baked. Nothing out of it makes sense after a point.

There is a woman who does something just to seek attention like she has no idea law is a thing, police officers conducting lie detector test and narco test on the same day. If that isn’t enough, there is sudden change of heart between people who were legit fighting to kill each other 2 minutes ago. Also, every only keeps forgetting their accent and switching to normal Hindi all the time.

HIT Movie Review: Star Performance

Rajkummar Rao understands his assignment and does what his director wants from him. The actor by now has made a record of being the best part about mediocre films and maybe that has taught him to adapt to any ecosystem. Here he is amazing when he has to throw mean punchlines and also when real punches. But he forgets his accent a lot of times too.

Sanya Malhotra exists only to be kidnapped and found. It’s a cameo with no back story, just a conflict creator.

HIT Movie Review: Direction, Music

Sailesh Kolanu’s direction is hooking till the interval. Every reveal till then is moving and brings you to the edge of you seat. But in the second half the games changes and for bad. There is not much to be on the edge but you use the recliner to rest. Because you have seen all of it and can predict at least most of it. What is unpredictable is half baked so doesn’t make much difference.

Mithun’s music is good and might have a good recall value if it gets its audience.

HIT Movie Review: The Last Word

Rajkummar Rao needs his glory back where the entire movie somehow complimented his talent and hardwork. This is not it but is not entirely bad either.

Post Major, Adivi Sesh has become a popular star and is doing some different films. Next in line is HIT 2 which has been released today. Let’s see how it is.

The city of Vizag is stunned with the brutal murder of a young woman. In comes SP Krishna Dev(Adivi Sesh) to solve the case. He investigates the case and even nabs the man behind it. But in a tragic turnaround of events, Dev comes to know that the killer is someone else. Who is this killer? and why is he targeting only women? To know the answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:

Sailesh Kolanu has directed this second part in the HIT franchise and he has narrated it in a gripping manner. If HIT featuring Vishwak Sen was investigative, this part has more emotions, drama, and good thrills.

Meenakshi Chaudhary looks beautiful in her role and ably supports Sesh. Her subtle emotions and screen presence were quite good. The lead pair’s chemistry is solid. Komalee Prasad gets a good role and surprises us in a serious role. Rao Ramesh was decent as a cop.

The second half of the film is where all the action happens. The thrills, conflict points and the manner in which the killer is revealed is quite good. The film is stylish and director Sailesh narrated in such a way that there is no dull moment in both the halves.

Last but not the least, Adivi Sesh has now become the king of thrillers and cannot put a foot wrong. The way he selects subjects in this genre is superb and HIT 2 gives him ample scope to showcase his heroism and performance. Be it his looks, body language and emotional outburst in the climax, Sesh has killed it.

Minus Points:

HIT 2 is a typical serial killer film and has nothing new to showcase. It has simple and engaging investigation but the wow factor which you expect with Sesh films is missing.

The film starts on a slow note and it takes time to enter the main plot. The villain’s track is revealed superbly but the actor who portrayed it could have done an even better job to make the climax exciting. His facial expressions were not up to the mark as the roles had so much scope to enact.

Technical Aspects:

The production values are top notch as the city of Vizag is showcased in a new light. The color tone used by the cameraman is amazing and shows the film in an arresting manner. Dialogues are decent and the production design was amazing. Lyrics were decent but the BGM could have been more gripping. It lacks depth in key places.

Coming to the director Sailesh Kolanu, he has done an impressive job. When compared to the first part, HIT 2 has more meat and style. Though he did not showcase things out of the box, he stuck to the serial killer genre and narrated the film in an engaging note. The lead up to reveal the villain is good but the interaction between the hero and villain should have been more intense. The climax part looks a bit rushed.

On the whole, HIT 2 is a gripping crime drama with good thrills and a solid second half. Adivi Sesh is in full form and carries the film on his shoulders with his superb performance. Though the film starts on a slow note, once the momentum picks up it keeps you hooked and ends as a satisfying watch. Go for it.

HIT Review: Vishwak Sen Blazes in One of the Best Telugu Whodunits

Hit releases today. , vishwak sen blazes in one of the best telugu whodunits.

HIT , directed by Sailesh Kolanu and starring Vishwak Sen, Ruhani Sharma and Murli Sharma is taut, relentless and intelligent. Vivek Sagar’s music gives it a film noir feel that’s hard to shake off till hours after the film. Actor Nani, who turns producer for this film bet on the right detective movie.

Vishwak Sen Delivers

Vikram, played by Vishwak Sen, is a detective on the Homicide Intervention Team (HIT). He goes through the entire gamut of forensics, hunches, chases and frustrating delays. There are no bells and whistles to these sequences. No OTT graphics or stylised montages. Everything, from collecting blood and DNA samples, to a polygraph test, is matter-of-fact. You are not in awe of the technology, nor blown away by the science. But the sheer magnitude of work involved in an investigation hits you. There’s an army at work, and it is Vikram who drives it and gives it impetus and direction.

As Vikram goes deeper into the labyrinth of clues, his post-traumatic stress bubbles to the surface. Vishwak Sen’s nervous energy - which was in full display in Falaknuma Das - binds the audience to his journey, and equally, to his disturbing past.

The Detective in You

The thing about murder mysteries or thriller films is that they stoke the investigator in you, the audience. But unlike the detective on screen, you don’t look for clues. What you keep your eyes peeled for, are cracks in the plot, lapses in building the suspense. And, loose ends.

As Vishwak Sen’s frustration grows, in the absence of a clear lead, so does the audience’s admiration for the relentless plot. The writing is flawless. The accents are bang on, the performances on pitch. And there are no cracks, lapses or loose ends in the story.

Music, Ruhani and Murli

Vivek Sagar’s music, as I mentioned, is paisa vasool . It builds and swings in tandem with the emotions of the protagonist. It rises suddenly, then stops mid-note as he comes to a panic attack. And it flits easily between blues and electronica.

Ruhani Sharma, who plays Vishwak Sen’s lover, and Murli Sharma who plays a constable, are both under-utilised. Ruhani’s performance in Chi La Sow was brilliant, and Murli is by far one of the most versatile actors who has done inspiring work in both Bollywood and Tollywood. Both needed more space, more lines, more consideration.

In a sense, the story and even the visuals revolve almost entirely around Vikram and his associate Rohit, as they grind through a mountain of clues. The occasional cutaways in the city are all too brief and do nothing for the story.

HIT is one hell of a debut for the director, and a movie you can take home and chew on.

HIT Review – Suspenseful Documentary on Crime investigation

Natural Star Nani’s second production HIT is releasing across the globe this Friday. Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma are the lead actors in this crime thriller. HIT trailer received a thumping response and the film is carrying decent expectations. Sailesh Kolanu is the director and Wall Poster Cinema produced HIT.

Vikram (Vishwak Sen), a top investigative officer in the HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) is recommended to take a leave of absence and get some rest to help relieve his post-traumatic stress. A lady officer investigating a missing girl (Preeti) case is kidnapped. How Vikram solves these two cases forms the story.

HIT‘s basic story is simple, nothing special about it. What stands out are the authority and authenticity put in place to showcase the investigation procedures. The killer intro and back story reveal are very impressive.

It is always a good play to associate the protagonist with a psychological disorder, post-traumatic stress in this case. It makes for a different characterization. Vishwak Sen excelled at this. The movie begins with quickly establishing Vikram’s problem solving intelligence. This is followed by Preeti’s kidnap story. The first half gives the viewer an insight into real life clue identification, DNA tests, evidence finding methods. No twists/turns here. Second of the movies starts with a frustrated Vikram, unhappy that his leads don’t work out. Adding to the mystery, his colleague and love interest, Neha (Ruhana Sharma) is kidnapped. Halfway into the second half, the audience starts to lose some interest as the director focuses more on the technical aspects than the content. However, the movie is good from the pre-climax and after. The climax and killer backstory are very impressive.

There is a liberal usage of the ‘F’ words in both English and Telugu, but they are used in the right situations and do not come off as offensive.

Generally speaking, directors in this genre prescribe to the ‘more twists mean smarter film’ notion and end up putting in too many twists and turns. HIT takes the route of maintaining the suspense intact and using authentic investigative methods instead of just adding a bunch of twists and turns.

Director Sailesh Kolanu has done a very good job in this genre. He designed the HIT film as a series. Good production values by the producers, hero Nani and Prashanti T. Good background score – a little loud at times.

Performances:

Vishwak Sen steals the show as a smart, aggressive police officer. We cannot visualize any other Tollywood hero to do better in this role. Bhanuchander, Brahmaji and Murali Sharma are department members and acted well. Hariteja’s character could have been better. Heorine Ruhani Sharma, also a police officer, had a limited role and acted ok.

HIT movie is an engaging ‘Whodunnit’ murder mystery with a well maintained suspense. The lead actor Vishwak’s stellar performance, the director’s portrayal of authentic investigative methods are the strengths of the film. On the flipside, lack of commercial elements may be prove to be counterproductive. Overall, a decent watch for the genre lovers.

భర్త ప్రభు డివోర్స్ అడిగాడని, తాను కూడా తమ ఇల్లీగల రిలేషన్‌షిప్ గురించి చెప్పినట్లు రిషితో నిధి చెబుతుంది. దాంతో నిధిపై రిషి ఫైర్ అవుతాడు. రోడ్డు మీద వదిలేసి వెళ్లిపోతాడు. కట్ చేస్తే రిషి, ప్రభు ఇద్దరూ కలిసి తమ ఎఫైర్స్ గురించి మాట్లాడుకుంటూ డ్రింక్ చేస్తుంటారు. అక్కడికి ఎంట్రీ ఇచ్చి కాసేపు ఫన్ చేద్దామని మాట్లాడిన నిధి వాళ్లిద్దరిని గన్‌తో షూట్ చేస్తుంది.

లవ్ (LOVE) అనే పదం ఇంగ్లీష్ లెటర్స్‌ను రివర్స్ చేసి చదివితే ఎవోల్ (EVOL) అని వస్తుంది. "ఏ లవ్ స్టోరీ ఇన్ రివర్స్" అనేది ఉపశీర్షిక. అందుకే టైటిల్‌ను అలా పెట్టారు. టైటిల్‌గా సినిమా కూడా రివర్స్‌గా సాగుతుంది. నిజానికి సినిమా మొత్తం కథ అరగంటలో అయిపోతుంది. కానీ, ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్, రిపీటెడ్ బోల్డ్ సీన్స్, ఫ్లాష్‌బ్యాక్, రిలేషన్స్ ఏర్పడటం వంటి సీన్లతో మరో అరగంటసేపు సాగదీశారు.

మొదటి అరగంట

భార్య నిధికి తన ఎఫైర్ గురించి ప్రభు చెప్పడంతో సినిమా ప్రారంభం అవుతుంది. భర్త డివోర్స్ ఇస్తాననడం గురించి ప్రభు ఫ్రెండ్ రిషితో తమ ఇల్లీగల్ రిలేషన్‌షిప్ గురించి చెప్పినట్లు చెప్పడంతో మరింత ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గా స్టోరీ నడుస్తుంది. మొదటి అరగంట ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌ సాగిన తర్వాత చాలా వరకు బోర్ కొడుతుంది. అడల్ట్ కంటెంట్, గతం గురించి చెప్పే విషయాలు కొంతవరకు బాగానే ఉన్నా మరి సాగదీతలా అనిపిస్తుంది.

ఎఫైర్స్ తప్పా

ఒకేసారి ఒక్కరితో కాకుండా అంతకంటే ఎక్కువమందిని ప్రేమించడం తప్పా అని ప్రియుడితో నిధి అడుగుతుంది. ఇదే కాన్సెప్ట్‌తో సినిమా మొత్తం నడుస్తుంది. అయితే, ఈ మూవీ వుమెన్ ఎంపవర్‌మెంట్ కోసం తీసినట్లు, భార్యలను భర్తలు బాగా చూసుకోవాలి, వాళ్ల ఫ్రీడమ్ వాళ్లకు ఇవ్వాలి అనే ఇంటెన్షన్‌తో తెరకెక్కించినట్లు డైరెక్టర్ చెప్పారు. కానీ, మూవీ చూస్తే ఇదేనా వుమెన్ ఎంపర్‌మెంట్ అనిపిస్తుంది. సినిమాలో ఇల్లీగల్ ఎఫైర్స్ తప్పా ఇంకోటి కనిపించదు.

నాన్ లీనియర్ స్త్రీన్‌ప్లే

భార్యకు భర్త ఇచ్చిన ఫ్రీడమ్.. తను కూడా ఇంకో అమ్మాయితో ఎఫైర్ పెట్టుకోవడం కోసమే అన్నట్లుగా ఉంది కానీ, నిజంగా భార్యకు స్వాతంత్య్రం ఇచ్చినట్లుగా లేదు. సినిమాలో విపరీతమైన పచ్చి అడల్ట్ కంటెంట్‌తో నింపేశారు. అయితే అది చాలా రిపీటెడ్‌గా వస్తూనే ఉంటుంది. మూడేళ్ల క్రితం, రెండేళ్ల క్రితం, ప్రస్తుతం అంటూ నాన్ లీనియర్ స్త్రీన్‌ప్లేతో విసుగుతెప్పించారు. వాళ్లు ఎఫైర్ పెట్టుకోవడంలో కూడా కొత్తదనం ఏం చూపించలేదు.

ఊహించని క్లైమాక్స్ ట్విస్ట్

రొటీన్ స్టోరీకి ఇంటిమెట్ సీన్స్ యాడ్ చేసి తీశారు. ఇల్లీగల్ రిలేషన్‌షిప్‌లో సాటిస్‌ఫ్యాక్షన్, ఎంజాయ్‌మెంట్ గురించి వచ్చే కన్వర్జేషన్ ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గానే ఉన్నా లవ్ అని చెప్పే ఎమోషన్ కన్విన్సింగ్‌గా లేదు. ఇక వీటన్నింటికి తోడు క్లైమాక్స్ ట్విస్ట్. ఈ ట్విస్ట్ కోసమా ఇదంతా చేసింది అనే డౌట్ వస్తుంది. అలాగే అది నిజమా.. ఏది నిజమా అనే మరో కన్‌ఫ్యూజన్ ఏర్పడుతుంది. అసలు ఏం చెప్పాలనుకున్నారో అర్థం కాలేదు.

అదిరిపోయిన కెమెరా వర్క్

అడల్ట్ సీన్స్‌ను ప్రధానంగా తీసుకుని దానికి క్రైమ్, సైకలాజీ, కాస్తా హారర్ ఎలిమెంట్స్‌ను టచ్ చేశారు. కానీ, కెమెరా వర్క్ మాత్రం చాలా బాగుంది. చాలా కొత్తగా సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ ఉంటుంది. చాలా వరకు కెమెరా చూపించిన యాంగిల్స్ కొత్త ఫీల్ ఇస్తాయి. మ్యూజిక్ కూడా చాలా బాగుంది. ఫ్రెష్ మూడ్‌లోకి తీసుకెళ్తుంది.

బాగున్న యాక్టింగ్, డబ్బింగ్
