How to Write an Essay on the Environment

  • green living

The environment where we live affects how we function and socialize as human beings. Over the years, there has been a growing focus on climate change and how shifts in weather events and temperatures are affecting living organisms.

Of course, although climate change is one of the threatening and pervasive things, currently, there are many other areas one can write about including biodiversity and pollution. Choosing what to write about is just one aspect of creating a good essay on the environment.

When tasked with writing an assignment on the environment, there are some specific factors to consider. Of course, different instructors issue different guidelines for academic writing, including the format and citation style to use. Make sure to adhere to these and stick to the question as outlined in the assignment prompt. Here are additional tips for effective essay writing.

Essay on the environment

Start by Choosing a Good Topic

The most important step in effective academic writing is selecting an appropriate topic. There are many areas of the environment where you can base your writing. However, you have to make sure that your preferred topic is in line with your assignment question, as set out in the prompt. Of course, there are times when instructors provide specific topics for their students, eliminating the need for topic selection.

In other instances, students are accorded the freedom to create their own topics. With such freedom, comes the responsibility of making sure that your topic is relevant for your project and current. Also, you have to make sure that your area of writing is precise enough to be covered within the scope of your essay. Those who are unable to find good topics can seek  custom writing  from professionals online.

Your essay on the environment can be in any of the following areas:• Climate change or global warming and its impacts;• Biodiversity;• Environmental pollution and how it affects living organisms.

Since the environment is a very broad topic area, you will need to conduct some research to make sure that you pick a relevant and current topic. Also, make sure to  narrow down your topic .

Brainstorm for Ideas and Create a Plan

my home environment essay

Once you have a topic for your essay, the next step is brainstorming. This is the process of thinking about the topic and noting down everything you know. The notes created here can form part of your outline.

When it comes to outlining, having a good plan will save you time much later in the course of your research and writing. This stage may require some preliminary research as well as the creation of a working thesis statement.

Create an Interesting Thesis Statement

Now that you have a topic and an outline, it is time to create a working thesis. Please note that your statement may change several in the course of your research and writing. As you proceed with your work, you may encounter different ideas and change your perspective on important issues. In essence, your thesis should be clear, arguable, interesting, and simple. It should demonstrate the position you intend to take with your argumentation.

Conduct Research and Document Sources

It is impossible to write a good essay on the environment if you don’t gather enough data and evidence. Quality academic papers present coherent arguments where ideas and points are supported using credible evidence. Conduct research on books, electronic journals, reputable websites, and primary sources. Just make sure to document the sources of your information to help with citations and references. Most importantly,  take keen notes that will make organizing  your essay easier.

Start Writing as Soon as Possible

Do not spend so much time with preparations that you forget to make time for the actual writing. You may have heard that freewriting is the easiest way to overcome writer’s block. However, there is an even better way — writing from an outline and researching the various sections of your paper. Just make sure to give each main idea its own paragraph, supported using evidence and examples from credible sources.

As you write your paper, grammar and syntax should not be your main priority. At this stage, just work on the drafting of your ideas and points. You can finish by editing your work for grammatical, content, and formatting consistency.

Please note that the tips provided in this article are meant to guide you through the process of academic essay writing. You still have to make sure that your writing adheres to your assignment instructions. Most importantly, you need to ensure that you proofread and edit your work.

“Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.” “Home is where the heart is.” These well-known expressions indicate that home is somewhere that is both desirable and that exists in the mind’s eye as much as in a particular physical location. Across cultures and over the centuries people of varied means have made homes for themselves and for those they care about. Humans have clearly evolved to be home builders, homemakers, and home-nesters. Dwellings that are recognizable as homes have been found everywhere that archaeologists and anthropologists have looked, representing every era of history and prehistory.

Home has always been a gathering place, shelter, and sanctuary, providing escape from the busyness and intrusiveness of the world. Much thought about, treasured, and longed for as an anchor of our existence, home has been the subject of abundant written works and other cultural products. We might reasonably suppose, therefore, that home is a readily understood concept and source of universally positive feelings. On closer investigation, however, neither of these assumptions is found to be true. The concept of home is constructed differently by different languages; dwellings are built and lived in very differently by diverse groups; and many individuals have negative or mixed emotions in regard to their experiences of home life. To embrace all of the nuances of meaning, outlook, lifestyle, and feeling that attach to home is a daunting task, but it greatly enriches our perspective on the world.

For many, home is (or was) a loving, supportive environment in which to grow up and discover oneself. Most people will have more than one home in a lifetime, and if the original one was unhappy, there is always the opportunity to do better when creating a new home. This may not as easy as it sounds for those whose memory of home is of an oppressive or abusive situation from which escape is (or was) a desperate imperative. But even when it is a peaceful, loving environment, home is, for all of us, a political sphere wherein we must negotiate rights and privileges, make compromises, and seek empowerment through self-affirmation.

As an ideal that exists in the imagination, and in dreams and wish fulfilments, home carries many and varied symbolic meanings embedded in the physical design of houses and projected onto them by the belief systems within which our lives play out. The landscape, geopolitical location, the people who live with us, and material possessions with which we furnish our home space are essential aspects of the place where we dwell. Complex interactions with all of these elements give definition to home as we see it. And as we define home, we also define ourselves in relation to it.

my home environment essay

In recent times, home has become a more problematic notion, not only because of everyday encounters with our homeless fellow citizens, but also because of the great increase in immigrants, refugees, asylum-seekers, and victims of natural disasters in many parts of the world. Given the strong meanings and emotional associations that home has for us, those who have lost their homes and the things they most valued, or who have never had a proper home in the first place, face psychological impacts and identity crises of massive proportions. Being without a home is devastating on personal, social, and many other levels. The issues raised by homelessness exist on a world scale, and will be aggravated by climate change and rising populations. In the end, they can only be dealt with through united effort driven by compassion and dedication.

On the hopeful side of things, many immigrants have been welcomed into new countries for some time, and have made successful and rewarding lives there for themselves, as well as broadening the experience and culture of their adopted homelands. Living in the space age and the age of greater environmental awareness, we are also collectively making the first steps toward appreciating the Earth we share as our ultimate home, and as the place above all that we need to respect and protect. Thinking about home takes us into our inner selves, to be sure, but it also encourages us to look at things in their totality.

Why is home so important to us, then? Because for better or worse, by presence or absence, it is a crucial point of reference—in memory, feeling, and imagination—for inventing the story of ourselves, our life-narrative, for understanding our place in time. But it is also a vital link through which we connect with others and with the world and the universe at large.

Essay on Understanding and Nurturing Our Environment

The environment is everything that surrounds us – the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil beneath our feet, and the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit our planet. It's not just a backdrop to our lives; it's the very essence of our existence. In this essay, we'll explore the importance of our environment, the challenges it faces, and what we can do to ensure a sustainable and thriving world for generations to come.

Our environment is a complex and interconnected web of life. Every living organism, from the tiniest microbe to the largest mammal, plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. This delicate balance ensures the survival of species, including humans. For instance, bees pollinate plants, which produce the oxygen we breathe. Nature is a masterpiece that has evolved over millions of years, and we are just one small part of this intricate tapestry.

Importance of Environment

The environment is crucial for keeping living things healthy.

It helps balance ecosystems.

The environment provides everything necessary for humans, like food, shelter, and air.

It's also a source of natural beauty that is essential for our physical and mental health.

The Threats to Our Environment:

Unfortunately, our actions have disrupted this delicate balance. The rapid industrialization, deforestation, pollution, and over-exploitation of natural resources have led to severe environmental degradation. Climate change, driven by the increase in greenhouse gas emissions, is altering weather patterns, causing extreme events like floods, droughts, and storms. The loss of biodiversity is another alarming concern – species are disappearing at an unprecedented rate due to habitat destruction and pollution.

Impact of Human Activities on the Environment

Human activities like pollution, deforestation, and waste disposal are causing environmental problems like acid rain, climate change, and global warming. The environment has living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) components. Biotic components include plants, animals, and microorganisms, while abiotic components include things like temperature, light, and soil.

In the living environment, there are producers (like plants), consumers (like animals), and decomposers (like bacteria). Producers use sunlight to make energy, forming the base of the food web. Consumers get their energy by eating other organisms, creating a chain of energy transfer. Decomposers break down waste and dead organisms, recycling nutrients in the soil.

The non-living environment includes climatic factors (like rain and temperature) and edaphic factors (like soil and minerals). Climatic factors affect the water cycle, while edaphic factors provide nutrients and a place for organisms to grow.

The environment includes everything from the air we breathe to the ecosystems we live in. It's crucial to keep it clean for a healthy life. All components of the environment are affected by its condition, so a clean environment is essential for a healthy ecosystem.

Sustainable Practices:

Adopting sustainable practices is a key step towards mitigating environmental degradation. This includes reducing our carbon footprint by using renewable energy, practicing responsible consumption, and minimizing waste. Conservation of natural resources, such as water and forests, is essential. Supporting local and global initiatives that aim to protect the environment, like reforestation projects and wildlife conservation efforts, can make a significant impact.

Education and Awareness:

Creating a sustainable future requires a collective effort, and education is a powerful tool in this regard. Raising awareness about environmental issues, the consequences of our actions, and the importance of conservation is crucial. Education empowers individuals to make informed choices and encourages sustainable practices at both personal and community levels.

Why is a Clean Environment Necessary?

To have a happy and thriving community and country, we really need a clean and safe environment. It's like the basic necessity for life on Earth. Let me break down why having a clean environment is so crucial.

First off, any living thing—whether it's plants, animals, or people—can't survive in a dirty environment. We all need a good and healthy place to live. When things get polluted, it messes up the balance of nature and can even cause diseases. If we keep using up our natural resources too quickly, life on Earth becomes a real struggle.

So, what's causing all this environmental trouble? Well, one big reason is that there are just so many people around, and we're using up a lot of stuff like land, food, water, air, and even fossil fuels and minerals. Cutting down a bunch of trees (we call it deforestation) is also a big problem because it messes up the whole ecosystem.

Then there's pollution—air, water, and soil pollution. It's like throwing a wrench into the gears of nature, making everything go wonky. And you've probably heard about things like the ozone layer getting thinner, global warming, weird weather, and glaciers melting. These are all signs that our environment is in trouble.

But don't worry, we can do things to make it better:

Plant more trees—they're like nature's superheroes, helping balance everything out.

Follow the 3 R's: Reuse stuff, reduce waste, and recycle. It's like giving our planet a high-five.

Ditch the plastic bags—they're not great for our landscapes.

Think about how many people there are and try to slow down the population growth.

By doing these things, we're basically giving our planet a little TLC (tender loving care), and that's how we can keep our environment clean and healthy for everyone.

Policy and Regulation:

Governments and institutions play a vital role in shaping environmental policies and regulations. Strong and enforceable laws are essential to curb activities that harm the environment. This includes regulations on emissions, waste disposal, and protection of natural habitats. International cooperation is also crucial to address global environmental challenges, as issues like climate change know no borders.

The Role of Technology:

Technology can be a double-edged sword in environmental conservation. While some technological advancements contribute to environmental degradation, others offer solutions. Innovative technologies in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture can significantly reduce our impact on the environment. Embracing and investing in eco-friendly technologies is a step towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Conclusion:

Our environment is not just a collection of trees, rivers, and animals; it's the foundation of our existence. Understanding the interconnectedness of all living things and recognizing our responsibility as stewards of the Earth is essential. By adopting sustainable practices, fostering education and awareness, implementing effective policies, and embracing eco-friendly technologies, we can work towards healing our planet. The choices we make today will determine the world we leave for future generations – a world that can either flourish in its natural beauty or struggle under the weight of environmental degradation. It's our collective responsibility to ensure that it's the former.

Essay on Save Environment in 200 Words

We all have been gifted with a precious gift by Mother Nature which sustains all life on Earth called the Environment. However, in recent years, there have been severe threats which in turn have led to huge damage to the environment. So, to ensure to have a sustainable future, it is very important that we all as human beings take crucial steps to save the environment.

Currently, one of the most pressing issues which we are all facing is climate change. The burning of fossil fuels to create energy has led to the emission of greenhouse gases, causing global temperatures to rise.

Speaking of problems, deforestation is another major concern. We all know that trees play a very important role in absorbing carbon dioxide and providing oxygen.

Another major challenge is the pollution of some of our major resources which include soil, water and air. By simply adopting sustainable practices such as reducing waste and investing in green technologies we all will be able to reduce pollution and conserve resources.

To conclude, we must all remember that saving the environment is not a choice but a necessity. It will require global cooperation as well as individual commitment. Essay on Save Environment in 300 Words

Our environment is a very precious thing which provides us with clean air, fresh water, fertile soil, and a diverse range of ecosystems that support countless species, including humans. However, our actions over the years have only shown that we aren’t grateful. This has led to environmental degradation and climate change has reached a threatening level. Therefore, we must start with immediate actions to save our environment.

One of the most pressing issues today is climate change. It is largely driven by the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and several industrial activities. Due to all these activities, there have been dire consequences which can be quite evident through extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to ecosystems.

To fight this climate change problem, we will have to work to get cleaner, renewable energy sources. We must also protect and restore our forests as they act as carbon sinks and absorb harmful greenhouse gases.

Common issues like pollution are creating a huge problem for us as it is poisoning our air, soil and water. To work on this, we must reduce our reliance on single-use plastics and adopt an eco-friendly alternative. On the other hand, industrial emissions and vehicle pollution can be controlled by putting strict actions and electric vehicles can be promoted. For wastewater, it can be treated through responsible waste disposal to prevent contamination of our water bodies.

Water scarcity is another growing concern. We must ensure that water is used wisely. Additionally, reducing water pollution from industrial and agricultural runoff is essential for the health of our ecosystems and aquatic life.

Biodiversity loss is another critical issue. Deforestation, habitat destruction, and overexploitation of resources are driving many species to extinction. Conservation efforts, protected areas, and sustainable practices in agriculture and fisheries are vital to preserving our planet.

In conclusion, we must address climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and water scarcity through a combination of government policies, technological advancements, and individual actions. Our planet’s health is intricately linked to our own.

Understanding our environment.

Our environment is the world around us. It includes everything from the air we breathe, to the trees and animals in nature. It’s a vital part of our lives.

Our Role and Responsibility

As individuals, it’s our duty to protect and preserve the environment. We can do this by reducing waste, recycling, and not harming wildlife.

Small Actions, Big Impact

Even small actions can make a big difference. Turning off lights when not in use, or picking up litter can help.

Our environment is our responsibility. Let’s take care of it for a better future.

250 Words Essay on My Environment My Responsibility

The intricate interplay between humans and environment, our actions, our consequences.

The environmental challenges we face today are largely anthropogenic. Deforestation, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss are all consequences of our actions. We have exploited natural resources to the point of exhaustion, with little regard for the repercussions. These actions not only degrade the environment but also threaten our own survival.

My Responsibility Towards the Environment

As individuals, we have a significant role to play in environmental conservation. Simple actions like reducing waste, recycling, and using energy-efficient products can have a considerable impact. However, our responsibility extends beyond these actions. We need to advocate for sustainable practices at every level of society, from local communities to global policies.

Education and Advocacy

Education is a powerful tool in this endeavor. By understanding the intricacies of environmental issues, we can make informed decisions and inspire others to do the same. Advocacy, too, is crucial. We must use our voices to influence policy and promote sustainable practices.

500 Words Essay on My Environment My Responsibility

Introduction.

Our environment is the foundation of our existence, providing us with the resources we need to live, grow, and thrive. It is a complex system of interconnected elements that work together to create a balanced ecosystem. However, with the rapid advancements in technology and the surge in consumerism, our environment is under threat. As inhabitants of this planet, it is our responsibility to take care of our environment to ensure its sustainability for future generations.

Understanding Environmental Responsibility

The impact of human actions.

Human actions have had a profound impact on our environment. The Industrial Revolution marked the beginning of massive human impact on the environment. Industrial activities and our consumerist lifestyle have led to environmental degradation, pollution, and climate change. Deforestation, overfishing, and overexploitation of natural resources have disrupted the balance of our ecosystems, leading to loss of biodiversity.

Our Responsibility Towards the Environment

As individuals, we have a responsibility to reduce our ecological footprint. This can be achieved by adopting sustainable practices in our daily lives. Simple actions like recycling, reducing our consumption, using public transport, or biking instead of driving can have a significant impact on our environment.

Education and Awareness

Knowledge is power. Educating ourselves and others about the importance of environmental responsibility is a key step towards a sustainable future. Environmental education equips people with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions and take responsible action.

In conclusion, our environment is our responsibility. The choices we make today will determine the future of our planet. By embracing environmental responsibility, we can contribute to the preservation of our environment and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. The path towards environmental sustainability may seem challenging, but it is a journey that we must undertake, for our survival and the survival of our planet depends on it.

Essay Samples on Environment

Writing essays that relate to the environment is quite popular today as we are dealing with global warming, green energy, solar engineering, and many other subjects. Regardless of whether you are an engineer or media studies learner, you must start with a deeper exploration of what you already know. For example, writing about the benefits of solar energy is not enough without statistical data. The same relates to the local factory that contributes to pollution in your community. You must provide the facts and include at least one news report or statistical information from the special reports (if and when available). See our free environment essay examples that we have collected for you. These will help you see how to structure and format your paper. As you work on your introduction paragraph, provide statistical information and explain why the problem exists. Your thesis statement must be a claim or an assumption that leads to specific results of your research. The final part (your conclusion) must sum things up and make a call to action as it’s often done in such papers. As a helpful solution, use our environment essay samples as a template as you learn about citations and structure.

The Impact of Home Environment

my home environment essay

The most important work you do takes place within the walls of your home.

We want to have great schools to send our kids to, but the truth is their home environment has a profound impact on their learning . The old saying, “The most important work you do takes place within the walls of your home,” applies here. Let me demonstrate this truth with an example of how to raise writers (that is, students who have strong writing skills).

When I taught high school English, I could always determine which students did some writing at home with their parents in the course of their everyday life. They did better in classroom writing and generally had a more positive attitude about writing, assuming that it was what grown-ups did in real life, not just cruel and unusual assignments reserved only for school.

Then some interesting research came out a few years ago, studying factors in families that support kids’ developing writing skills, that confirmed what I’d observed in the classroom Dr. Judy Abbott, Assistant Professor of Education at West Virginia University. Research and dissertation underscoring the importance of parents in encouraging children to write at home, 1996 .

Here are some of the findings: These children had a lot of conversation and reading at home. There was at least one adult who interacted with them about their writing; took time to let them read their stories, poems, or whatever they’d written aloud; and encouraged them to express themselves on paper. They suggested real reasons to do practical writing like making lists (of friends to invite to a party or foods they’d like to eat in the coming week) and wrote notes to their kids at home on sticky notes, on a whiteboard in a central place for family messages, and in their lunch boxes.

These were not parents who were professional writers, but ones who saw writing as a lifelong skill and encouraged it at home.

And writing, by the way, is a valuable skill, even (and especially) in this high-tech era. There are well over 30 million jobs today in which people use writing to convey and transfer information; because we’re in an information-oriented world, success in great part depends on a precise and effective use of spoken and written language. So a young person who can write and speak well (the two skills tend to work together) will be the adult who can rise to the top of his field.

Take this same principle and apply it to other things your children need to learn, such as math (the attitude about math that kids come into the classroom with, and experiences at home with measuring, learning to set up a simple budget, counting toys while putting them away on shelves) and reading (avid young readers tend to come from homes where there’s a lot of reading aloud, parents are engaged in their own reading, and interesting books and magazines are available).

Not just moms, but dads also have an important role in developing their kids to be lifelong learners. Mothers are often the ones expected to help with homework and volunteer at school, but over and over studies show that a father’s encouragement and support — whether it’s reading aloud to his children, sharing a hobby, or showing genuine interest in the content that his kids are learning, not just the grades — can have a powerful impact on raising lifelong learners.

And if you decrease your own and your children’s time in front of the television during the school week and spend the time in other, more productive ways like playing board games or talking around the dinner table, you’ll be surprised at how this translates into more motivation for learning in the classroom.

Excessive TV watching (including DVDs and videotapes) robs kids of important parent-child time and is strongly related to inattention and childhood obesity. And please don’t put a television or computer in your young child’s room, isolating him or her from family interaction and parental supervision.

Make the most of your role model, because the top way kids learn is by imitation . The daily example you set in being interested in learning about the world around you, being persevering, patient, and optimistic about your challenges at work or home (including parenting!), will help your sons and daughters develop the determination to keep going on difficult math problems or other tasks despite frustrations.

Essay on My Home in 200 Words

We are a big family living together in a big house. I love to live with my family and that’s why I always enjoy living in my home. We live in a village near Ahmedabad. It’s a very beautiful village and only a 1 hour drive from the city . My grandfather built that two-storied building for the family.

We are a joint family still now. We have 13 family members in total. Still, now that’s a big building for us. There are 10 bedrooms and each bedroom has an attached toilet. The location of the house is near a small river. And when I come to my veranda on the west side, I can see a very beautiful natural view.

We have a good internet and electricity connection in our home. That’s why our life is not that much different from city life . Although, we don’t need to face all the traffic problems here. There are so many reasons why I love to live in my home.

This is the place where I find peace. Wherever I stay, I always feel homesick and I want to get back to my family. And I know everyone is like this because we have some extra affection for our home.

My Home Essay in 300 Words

Introduction:

Home is where we are born, live, and spend the sweetest time of our life. We all love and enjoy living in our home. Today I am going to share lots of information about my home. I will tell you how much home looks and how we are living there.

I live in a small village near Azamgarh, UP, India. My village is one of the most beautiful places here due to natural beauty. My father never intended to move from here because he loves to stay with the people of this village.

We have a very big and old house here in the village. Because we are a joint family with my 4 uncles. My father is the oldest son of his dad and that’s why he controls everything. My uncles, aunties, and their kids are living here together with us.

We are a big family. Our home was built almost 50 years ago. My grandfather built it by marble stone. This is one of the most beautiful homes in the village. It is two-storied and there are almost 25 rooms in the building.

I love to live here a lot. There is a huge garden in front of the house. My father tries to paint the house every year, and that’s why it looks very beautiful.

We have to spend a big amount of money on the maintenance of the home. I feel this house is the safest place for me and I feel a lot relieved when I am staying there.

Conclusion:

Everyone loves their home and they love to live there like me. It doesn’t matter how your home is, but everyone loves it. Because it’s the place where we were born, and it’s the place where our family lives.

Essay on My Home in 400

Introduction:

To me, my home is the best place to live in. The first reason behind it is my mother is here. We all have immense affection for our own home. We all have a home and we love to live there. Today I am going to share some important things about my home.

My home is located in Bandra, Mumbai. My father built this home almost 20 years ago. This neighborhood was not that much crowded before and only a couple of buildings were here. But now it has been a really important place for the entire city.

The value of land is pretty high here. We are very lucky that my dad made this building for us. It is a three-storied building. We live on the 2nd floor and the entire building is on rent. We make a good amount of money from this rent.

We are living in a unit with two bedrooms. Each bedroom has an attached toilet. And there is an extra toilet too. There are very beautiful kitchen and a dining room.

My mom keeps the entire home very neat and clean. Especially she keeps the living room very beautiful. The living room has some beautiful paintings and I love them a lot.

My room is the most beautiful room in the entire building. My room is full of beautiful dolls, paintings, and different types of toys. My bed is very small but very beautiful. My dad bought that for me from Canada.

My Home Essay in 500 Words

My Home Essay in 500 Words

A home is a place where our heart is. We all love to be with our family and it’s only possible when we are living with our family. Today I am going to share all about my home. My home is very special to me.

My home is located in Banani, Dhaka. This is a very reputed area in the city. When my father came here to build this home, this place was not that much value and only a couple of buildings were here.

But now it has been the most important place in the country. It is the perfect place for operating a business based on Dhaka. Our building is two-storied. We live on one floor and the other one is on rent.

It was designed by a very good architect and the building structure is pretty good. We color it after a regular break and that’s how the entire building looks very beautiful. The people live here for rent, they are also very happy about our house.

They always say that they love to stay here forever. We have got a good bonding with them. On our floor, we have two-bedrooms, three toilets, one kitchen, and a dining room. There is lots of space for the living room there.

My parents decorated the room properly and made it a perfect living room. My room is one of the most beautiful parts of the entire building. I have got everything in the room. My veranda is on the west side and I can see a bit of a natural view from there.

Sometimes I come out and sit there with a book in my hand. I have a big wardrobe to keep my clothes and a big bookshelf to keep my books. My computer table is also very beautiful. I love to work on that.

We don’t have any cars, that’s why we don’t require any parking space. But we have enough parking space in front of our house. It will be required because we are planning to get a car soon. Overall, my home is amazing and very interesting to me.

Why Do I Love to Be in My Home?

There are so many reasons why I love to stay in my home. First of all, I think I feel some extra comfort here. Everything is very easy and effortless here. I love to live with my family.

And that’s another huge reason behind living in my home. When I go away from my home, I feel very homesick. I want to get back home as soon as possible.

Happiness doesn’t depend on the size of the house, but on the attitude of the family members. We are a very happy family living together happily with lots of love and fun. Our house may not have a lot of luxury but we feel very comfortable and safe here.

Essay on My Home in 600 Words

Essay on My Home in 600 Words

‘Home is where the heart is’, it’s a famous quote about your own home or homeland. Almost everyone has their own home and they prefer to live in their home. In this essay, I am going to talk about my home.

I always think that my home is the best place for me to live in this world. We all feel special when we stay at home. When you go away for a few days or a week, you can realize how much you miss your home and get homesick.

I have a very beautiful home. It was built by my father 10 years ago. It’s a two-storied building located in Delhi, India. My father shifted himself here with the entire family. He struggled a lot before building this house here.

There are some beautiful things that I am going to share with all of you about my home. First of all, let’s talk about the rooms. We have a total of 10 rooms in the building. The terrace is very beautiful with lots of beautiful flower plants.

My reading room and bedroom are on the 2nd floor. I love to live there. But our kitchen and dining room on the first floor. My parent’s bedroom is on the 2nd floor too. My elder brother and sister and my grandma live on the first floor.

Our living room is also on the first floor. This is a very well decorated room with two beautiful sofa sets and a big screen Television. I love spending time in the living room. My sister made this room very special with her own interior knowledge.

When any guest arrives at our house, we let them sit here. There are some mind-blowing paintings too on the wall. We have got a well decorated and complete kitchen. My mother and maid cook food there. My mom can cook delicious food.

The dining room is pretty big and we all eat together there. My father never tolerated eating separately. My room is also very big and I try to keep it neat and clean always. My sister helps sometimes to keep my room organized.

There are so many reasons that are why I love to be in my home. The first reason is my family. When I’m living in my home, I can stay with my family. And I love my family a lot.

It is very easy to live with them. When I live outside of my home, I can feel how hard it is. Everything in my home is very familiar and known to me. I don’t need to go through any hardships while I’m here. Food is a huge issue for me.

It’s hard for me to digest outside food. I love eating food that is cooked by my mom. My sister also cooks sometimes. She can cook well too.

'It was pretty powerful': Ayr residents cleaning up after reported tornado

Social sharing.

An apparent tornado touched down in Ayr, Ont., on Saturday morning following an emergency warning issued by Environment Canada, downing trees and power lines and causing heavy damage to at least one home and business.

The weather agency's meteorologists said they were tracking a severe thunderstorm near Plattsville that could produce a tornado, prompting it to issue an official tornado warning for parts of Waterloo region and surrounding areas.

According to North Dumfries fire Chief Robert Shantz, a tornado touched down around 11 a.m. ET. An official with the Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) at Western University also said it was a tornado.

Environment Canada hasn't yet confirmed the weather system touched down, but told CBC News there were indications of debris in Ayr on the radar.

Apparent tornado touches down in Ayr, Ont., causing damage to business

Ayr resident Kelly Bebenek said that of the 70 trees on her property, only four remain.

She said the tornado broke two new windows installed in her house on Friday. It also ripped the roof off her daughter's bedroom and water began entering the house.

"I go between laughing and crying," Bebenek said.

Dave Sills, executive director of the Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) at Western University in London, Ont., also said a tornado hit Ayr. The project investigates tornadoes across the country.

His team arrived on scene from London, Ont., to conduct a damage survey — including assessing the tornado's length, width and strength.

Sills said there have been few strong tornadoes in southern Ontario this year.

"We'll see if this is an exception," he said.

Video shows aftermath of reported tornado in Ayr, Ont.

In a news release Saturday afternoon, the Township of North Dumfries said there was a "localized cluster of extensive damage" along Greenfield Road W., between Trussler Road and Northumberland Street.

The release attributes the damage to a significant summer storm, consisting of heavy winds, heavy rainfall and lightning. It does not refer to a tornado.

Many large trees are down on Greenfield Road West, which was closed to traffic, the release said. There were also downed power lines on the road near Northumberland Street.

Cowan Park and the Northumberland Street corridor, close to the Greenfield Road intersection, also sustained extensive damage.

Emergency crews and GrandBridge Energy were on scene, the release said. Hydro was out in the area and was gradually being restored.

"It is anticipated that the power outage in and immediately adjacent [to the] the high impact zone will be out for an extended time period," the township said.

No injuries are being reported from "high impact properties," the release added.

North Dumfries Mayor Sue Foxton asked residents to stay off Northumberland Street. She said a number of cars are driving down the road to see the damage, preventing emergency vehicles from getting through.

"Lets really take care of this situation by allowing people… to do the best job they can as quickly as they can," she said.

Home Hardware store damaged: meteorologist

Trudy Kidd, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said if there is no indication of touchdown, it would be considered a funnel cloud. They are still investigating.

Shantz added the local Home Hardware store sustained heavy damage.

The hardware store and surrounding businesses were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

North Dumfries fire crews remain on the scene due to the smell of natural gas.

Meanwhile, Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) say Greenfield Drive between Trussler and Northumberland is closed due to downed trees and hydro poles.

"Do not approach or drive over a downed power line and do not touch anything it may be in contact with," a post by WRPS on social media said.

"Downed wires should always be considered energized or "live," and extremely dangerous."

Many residents received notifications on their phone Saturday morning around 10:43 a.m., warning them of the potentially hazardous weather.

Another alert was issued shortly after at 11:03 a.m.

The weather agency was advising residents to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches and notes this is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.

Environment Canada says tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm watch, rain warning in effect

Environment Canada also issued a tornado watch for Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo late Saturday morning, but it has since been downgraded to a severe thunderstorm watch.

The watch says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may produce heavy rain, along with strong wind gusts and large hail.

Wind gusts could reach up to 90km/h with toonie-sized hail and heavy downpours.

A rainfall warning is also in effect for the region. Between 50 and 100 mm of rain are expected to fall, the weather agency said.

Rain is expected to continue into Sunday.
