How to Make Great Technology PowerPoint Presentations Fast (With Templates)

Andrew Childress

If you want to learn how to build a PowerPoint about technology, you're in the perfect place. Let's examine the process of creating technology PowerPoint slides using tech PowerPoint templates.

Cyberspace technology PowerPoint

"Change has never happened this fast before, and it will never be this slow again.”

This quote is attributed to many (most notably to Graeme Wood. ) It's also the perfect way to describe technology. Continually evolving and shaping our modern world, technology is in everything we do. That's why technology presentations can be so important.

Get ready to see templates for PowerPoint about technology from Envato Elements. Plus, download top-notch technology PowerPoint templates from GraphicRiver.

Make a PowerPoint About Technology

Technology is so ubiquitous that it can be hard to nail down an exact definition. I like the description offered by Brittanica , "the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life." Technology brings research to life in useful ways.

Technology is a broad subject. There are so many ways to cover it! Maybe you want to talk about a breakthrough in artificial intelligence. Or you want to talk about a new programming language that makes coding more accessible.

No matter what part of technology you're covering, a few design principles are universal to creating a captivating technology presentation. Here are three principles you can use for an excellent technology presentation:

  • Talk about trends . Technology is evolving so rapidly that it's easy to lose sight of how paradigms are shifting. Speak about those macro trends, giving day-to-day examples.
  • Paint a portrait of the future . Show your audience what they can look forward to. Devote slides to also forecasting how technology will continue to evolve.
  • Use images and illustrations . Some technology presentation ideas are more conceptual. For those ideas, it helps to use pictures and illustrations that give visual meaning to big ideas.

The success of all presentations on technology hinges upon the written content you include. Use this article to learn more about the writing process. Discover a structured set of steps that can help you create great content.

technology visual presentation

This tutorial will help you create a PowerPoint about technology that follows these principles. Read on to become a master technology presenter.

How to Make a PowerPoint About Technology

You might be wondering: how can you use a technology PPT to create your presentation?

In this section, we'll customize a few technology PowerPoint slides. We're going to work with the Cyberspace Technology presentation template .  I've chosen it because its designs are perfect for technology PowerPoint slides thanks to its use of modern principles.

Technology PowerPoint presentation ideas

Let's walk through creating three technology PowerPoint slides. You'll see that technology slide templates are sufficiently flexible to your specific purpose:

1. The Tech Team Slide

Team Starter slide

Sometimes, the focus of technology PowerPoint slides should be the  people  behind the technology presentation ideas. Many technological breakthroughs are the result of fantastic collaboration and hard-working inventors. Why not create a slide to focus on it?

Slide 10 is perfect for focusing on the team behind the tech. Let's customize this people-centric technology slide in three steps:

  • Update images . Click on the image placeholders and browse to your team's headshots.
  • Update the text . Each of the text boxes are easy to click inside of and type over with your specifics.
  • Update the common branding . We'll need to adjust the Slide Master to do this. Read on to find out how.

You might find that you can't select some aspects on the slide, like the logo or the site URL in the corner of the slide. That's because these items are on the  Slide Master,  the underlying slide design.

The advantage of the Slide Master is that it controls many slide designs. So, it's easy to update all slides at the same time. Go to the  View > Slide Master  menu option to adjust the shared design details.

Update Slide Master

That's it! You've set up an eye-catching slide that gives credit where due. Your team will appreciate it, and your audience will get to know the team.

Technotek final image

2. The Image-Focused Slide

Image-focused slide

Every presenter needs a few "general purpose" slides in their toolbelt. That's what slide 23 is perfect for.

Slides like this are perfect because they work for practically any purpose. Any time that you want to focus on an image and balance it with a bit of info, consider using this slide.

Again, a few tweaks can completely transform this slide:

  • Add your image . Click in the placeholder on the right side. Then browse to a technology-centric image.
  • Adjust the detail boxes . There are four boxes that you can use to add more detail. Type over the " Option " text and update the icons (more on that below.) Also, I moved all four boxes up to not overlap the images.
  • Update text . Type over the main text boxes to complete the slide.

One bonus for this technology PowerPoint template is the included set of icons. In your download, you'll find a separate PowerPoint file that's full of icons. I used one of the icons in this presentation and copied and pasted it into my technology presentation.

Icons in PowerPoint

That's it! You've completed an excellent looking technology PowerPoint slide with a soft sales angle.

Finished slide design

3. The Device Mockup Slide

Device Mockup Side with technology

When many people think about technology, they might think of how they use it in their day-to-day life. That includes the smartphone apps that they turn to for convenience and answers.

Slide 34 is the perfect way to show off a new app or mobile website. It's a real-world mockup, and it's easy to add your screenshot. Let's see three steps you can use to craft this slide:

  • Device mockup . Click the image icon and browse to a screenshot you capture in your app.
  • Type over text . Type in the text boxes to add your specifics.
  • Cut down on text . Make sure that your finished slide has fewer text elements to make it easier for your audience to focus.

4. Product Pricing Slide

Product Pricing Slide

When creating a presentation on technology, a product pricing slide is important. An important part of presenting a product is the pricing. Pricing determines if people want to buy your product. Slide 15 is a good option for product pricing. You can customize this slide in two simple steps:

  • Add product image . This template has a picture placeholder, so adding an image is easy. Click on the Insert Picture from File . A file finder appears. Find the image file and double click. Now your product image is on the slide.
  • Update the text . Start by highlighting the text. Press Delete on your keyboard to get rid of unwanted text. Next, add the text that you want.

5. Product Features Slide

Product features slide.

If you're presenting a PowerPoint presentation on new technology, include the product's features. Slide 19 is a great slide to add the product features to. Here’s how to add your product features.

  • Replace the text . Erase the text that’s there. Highlight the text and press Delete . Type in your product information.
  • Add another feature box . Copy the box and paste it where you want. Next, add a new text box. Start by clicking on the Insert tab. Next, click on the Text Box button in the toolbar.

6. Pie Chart Slide

Pie chart slide.

Another important slide in your technology presentation is the data slide. One if the data slides is slide 42. This slide is a pie chart. Here’s how to customize this slide:

  • Add your data . Double click on the pie chart. A Chart Design tab appears when you double click on the pie chart. A sidebar also appears on the right side of your screen. In the sidebar, use the Angle of First Slice section to adjust your pie slice on the pie chart.
  • Edit the pie chart data . Click on the Edit Data in Excel button in the toolbar. Add your data to the spreadsheet that pops up. This adjusts the chart on your slide.
  • Add your information . Replace the text that comes on the slide. Then, add the information that explains the data on the slide.

7. Timeline Slide

Timeline slide.

Include a timeline in your presentation about technology. People are going to want to know when it launches. Slide 44 is a great option for a timeline. Here are two steps you can follow to customize this slide:

  • Add your own text . Adding information about the expected product launch is essential. Highlight the text that you want to remove, and press Delete on your keyboard. Next, click inside the textbox and begin typing your own text.
  • Add an image . Click on the Insert Picture from file button to add an image to the timeline. To change the size of the picture holder, click on the grey line outside the Insert Picture from File button. Use the handles to adjust the size of the picture placeholder.

by Tom Rielly • May 12, 2020

technology visual presentation

When giving presentations, either on a video conference call or in person, your slides, videos and graphics (or lack of them) can be an important element in helping you tell your story or express your idea. This is the first of a series of blog posts that will give you tips and tricks on how to perfect your visual presentations.

Your job as a presenter is to build your idea -- step-by-step -- in the minds of your audience members. One tool to do that is presentation graphics, such as slides and videos.

Why graphics for your presentation?

A common mistake is using slides or videos as a crutch, even if they don’t actually add anything to your presentation. Not all presentations need graphics. Lots of presentations work wonderfully with just one person standing on a stage telling a story, as demonstrated by many TED Talks.

You should only use slides if they serve a purpose: conveying scientific information, art, and things that are hard to explain without pictures. Once you have decided on using slides, you will have a number of decisions to make. We’ll help you with the basics of making a presentation that is, above all, clear and easy to understand. The most important thing to remember here is: less is more.

Less is so much more

You want to aim for the fewest number of slides, the fewest number of photos, the fewest words per slide, the least cluttered slides and the most white space on your slides. This is the most violated slide rule, but it is the secret to success. Take a look at these examples.

Example slides showing how a short title is easier to grasp than a long one

As you can see in the above example, you don’t need fancy backgrounds or extra words to convey a simple concept. If you take “Everything you need to know about Turtles”, and delete “everything you need to know about” leaving just “turtles”, the slide has become much easier for your audience to read, and tells the story with economy.

Example slides showing how a single image is more powerful than a cluttered slide

The above example demonstrates that a single image that fills the entire screen is far more powerful than a slide cluttered with images. A slide with too many images may be detrimental to your presentation. The audience will spend more mental energy trying to sort through the clutter than listening to your presentation. If you need multiple images, then put each one on its own slide. Make each image high-resolution and have it fill the entire screen. If the photos are not the same dimensions as the screen, put them on a black background. Don’t use other colors, especially white.

Examples slides showing how it's better to convey a single idea per slide vs a lot of text

Your slides will be much more effective if you use the fewest words, characters, and pictures needed to tell your story. Long paragraphs make the audience strain to read them, which means they are not paying attention to you. Your audience may even get stressed if you move on to your next slide before they’ve finished reading your paragraph. The best way to make sure the attention stays on you is to limit word count to no more than 10 words per slide. As presentation expert Nancy Duarte says “any slide with more than 10 words is a document.” If you really do need a longer explanation of something, handouts or follow-up emails are the way to go.

Following a “less is more” approach is one of the simplest things you can do to improve your presentation visuals and the impact of your presentation overall. Make sure your visuals add to your presentation rather than distract from it and get your message across.

What are visual presentation examples?Infographics, photographs, videos, diagrams, graphs, and charts.
Why do presenters use presentation aids?Presentation aids allow the audience to understand clearly and easily the information.

So, what are the visual presentation examples? When providing as much information as possible, many presenters think that text-heavy slides may help, but by contrast, they may lead to distraction. As we explore the characteristics of good presentations, illustrations and graphics play an important role in delivering compelling content and turning complex concepts more clearly, precisely, and instantly to understand. A visual presentation is the adoption of a range of visual aids on presentation to ensure information is easier to understand and memorize.

In addition, visual aids can also help to keep presenters on track, which can be used as a cue for reviving a train of thought. They build better interaction and communication between presenters and the audience, making them notice more deeply what you are saying.

Types of Visual Presentation Examples

Some possible visual presentations include infographics , charts, diagrams, posters, flipcharts, idea board , whiteboards, and video presentation examples.

An infographic is a collection of different graphic visual presentations to represent information, data, or knowledge intended more visually quickly and clearly to grab the audience's attention.

To illustrate quantitative data effectively, it is important to make use of graphs and charts. For both business use and research use, graphs and charts can show multiple and complex data in a way that is easy to understand and memory.

When it comes to presenting information systematically and logically, you can use diagrams. A diagram is a powerful tool for effective communication and brainstorming processes. It also is time-saving for people to read and collect information.

A poster, especially a research project poster, provides brief and concrete information about a research paper straightforwardly. The audiences can grab all important data knowledge and findings through posters.

A flipchart and whiteboard are the most basic presentation aids and work best to supplement lecture slides. Excellent whiteboard and flipchart composite of well-chosen words, and clear diagram will help to explain complex concepts.

A video presentation is not a new concept, it is a great way to spread ideas lively and quickly attract the audience's attention. The advantages of a video presentation lie in its animation and illustration concepts, fascinating sound effects, and user-friendliness.

In addition, we can add many types of visual aids in the presentations as long as they can give shapes and form words or thoughts into visual content. Most popular visual aids include graphs, statistics, charts, and diagrams that should be noted in your mind. These elements combined with verbal are a great way to engage the listeners’ imagination and also emphasize vital points more memorable.

Visual Presentation Examples

It is simply to create more visual presentations than you think. With the development of technology and the internet, you can find visual presentation examples and templates for a second. PowerPoint is a good start, but there are a variety of quality alternatives, such as AhaSlides , Keynote, and Prezi.

When it comes to designing an effective visual presentation, you may identify some key steps beforehand:

Visual Presentation Examples - Focus on Your Topic

Firstly, you need to determine your purpose and understand your audience's needs. If you are going to present in a seminar with your audience of scientists, engineers, business owners… They are likely to care about data under simple charts and graphs, which explain the results or trends. Or if you are going to give a lecture for secondary students, your slides should be something fun and interesting, with more colourful pictures and interactive questions.

Visual Presentation Examples - Animation and Transition

When you want to add a bit of excitement to a slideshow and help to keep the listener more engaged, you use animation and transition. These functions help to shift the focus of audiences between elements on slides. When the transition style and setting are set right, it can help to give fluidity and professionalism to a slideshow.

Visual Presentation Examples - Devices for Interactivity

One of the approaches that improve communication between audiences and the use of visual aids is using technology assistance. You don’t want to take too much time to create well-designed visual aids while ensuring your presentation is impressive, so why not leverage a presentation app like AhaSlides ? It properly encourages participant engagement with interactive visual features and templates and is time-saving. With its help, you can design your presentation either formally or informally depending on your interest.

Visual Presentation Examples - Give an Eye-catching Title

Believe it or not, the title is essential to attracting audiences at first sight. Though don’t “read the book by its cover”, you still can put your thoughts into a unique title that conveys the topic while piquing the viewer’s interest.

Visual Presentation Examples - Play a Short Video

Creative video presentation ideas are always important. “Videos evoke emotional responses”, it will be a mistake if you don’t leverage short videos with sound to reel in and captivate the audience's attention. You can put the video at the beginning of the presentation as a brief introduction to your topic, or you can play it as a supplement to explain difficult concepts.

Visual Presentation Examples - Use a Prop or Creative Visual Aid to Inject Humour

It is challenging to keep your audience interested and engaged with your audience from the whole presentation. It is why to add a prop or creative visual aid to pull your audience's focus on what you say. Here are some ideas to cover it:

  • Use neon colour and duotones
  • Tell a personal story
  • Show a shocking heading
  • Use isometric illustrations
  • Go vertical

Visual Presentation Examples - Rehearsal and Get Feedback

It is an important step to make your visual presentation really work out. You won’t know any unexpected mirrors may come out on D-day if you don’t make the rehearsal and get feedback from a reliable source. If they say that your visual image is in bad-quality, the data is overwhelming, or the pictures are misunderstood, you can have an alternative plan in advance.

Visual Presentation Examples

What Makes a Good Visual Presentation?

Incorporate visual or audio media appropriately. Ensure you arrange and integrate suitable data presentation in your slides or videos. You can read the guidelines for visual aids applications in the following:

  • Choose a readable text size about the slide room and text spacing in about 5-7 doubted-spaced.
  • Use consistent colour for overall presentation, visual aids work better in white yellow and blue backgrounds.
  • Take care of data presentation, and avoid oversimplification or too much detail.
  • Keep the data shown minimum and highlight really important data points only.
  • Choose font carefully, keep in mind that lowercase is easier to read than uppercase
  • Don’t mix fonts.
  • Printed text is easier to read than handwritten text.
  • Use the visual to emphasize punctuation in your verbal presentation.
  • Say no to poor-quality images or videos.
  • Visual elements need to be strategic and relevant.

What well-designed visual aids should have?

To make an effective visual aid, you must follow principles of design, including contrast, alignment, repetition, and proximity.

Why is it important to keep visual aids simple?

Simple ads help to keep things clear and understandable, so the message can be communicated effectively.

What is the purpose of visual aids in the classroom?

To encourage the learning process and make it easier and more interesting so students would want to engage in lessons more.

Adding Visuals to Your Technology PowerPoint

Jun 18, 2014

Incorporating visuals into your PowerPoint presentations is essential, especially when dealing with technical subjects. Technology presentations can easily overwhelm audiences with data, jargon, and complex ideas. The right visuals can help break down complicated information and make your message more engaging and digestible. Here’s how to enhance your technology PowerPoint with powerful visuals.

1. Use Diagrams to Simplify Complex Processes

Technology presentations often involve explaining complex systems or processes. Using diagrams can help simplify these concepts and make them easier for your audience to follow.

Why It’s Important :

  • Clarifies Information : Diagrams help break down complex processes into manageable, understandable parts.
  • Engages Visual Learners : Visual learners can grasp the information more easily when it’s presented in a clear, diagrammatic form.

How to Do It :

  • Create flowcharts, network diagrams, or process maps to explain systems like IT infrastructure or software development workflows.
  • Use arrows and shapes to visually guide your audience through the steps or components of a system.

2. Incorporate Infographics to Visualize Data

Technology presentations often include data-heavy content, such as usage statistics, performance metrics, or market trends. Infographics can help you present data in a more engaging and accessible format.

  • Makes Data Easier to Understand : Infographics condense data into a visual format that’s easier for your audience to absorb at a glance.
  • Enhances Engagement : Visual data is more engaging than spreadsheets or bullet points, keeping your audience focused and interested.
  • Use tools like Canva or PowerPoint’s built-in features to create custom infographics that visualize key data points.
  • Incorporate charts, icons, and color coding to make the data easy to interpret.

3. Use High-Quality Images to Reinforce Key Points

Including relevant, high-quality images can reinforce your message and help illustrate key points. For example, images of hardware, software interfaces, or screenshots of code can provide visual context in technology presentations.

  • Provides Context : Images help contextualize abstract concepts, making them more relatable to your audience.
  • Improves Retention : Audiences are more likely to remember information when it’s paired with a relevant visual.
  • Add images of technology products, prototypes, or real-life use cases to visually support your explanations.
  • Ensure all images are high resolution and professional to maintain credibility.

4. Use Icons and Symbols for Better Visual Flow

Icons and symbols can help guide your audience’s attention and visually organize information. These simple, yet effective visuals can highlight key points, break up text, and direct the audience’s focus.

  • Enhances Readability : Icons break up dense text and make slides more visually appealing.
  • Adds Visual Hierarchy : Use symbols to create visual distinctions between main points and supporting details.
  • Use technology-related icons (e.g., computers, gears, cloud symbols) to represent different sections of your presentation or key concepts.
  • Place icons next to bullet points or titles to make the slides more scannable.

5. Animate Visuals for More Dynamic Presentations

Adding animations to your visuals can make your presentation more dynamic and engaging. Animations can also help emphasize important points or guide your audience through a complex diagram step by step.

  • Keeps the Audience Engaged : Movement grabs attention and keeps your audience focused on the presentation.
  • Emphasizes Key Information : Animating visuals draws attention to specific points and helps pace your delivery.
  • Use PowerPoint’s animation features to reveal diagrams or charts in stages as you explain each part.
  • Apply subtle animations like Fade In or Wipe to introduce new visuals smoothly without overwhelming your audience.

6. Use Consistent Visual Themes

A consistent visual theme throughout your presentation helps create a cohesive and professional look. Whether you’re using diagrams, infographics, or images, ensure that the style, color scheme, and fonts remain consistent across all your slides.

  • Creates Visual Harmony : Consistency in visuals prevents your presentation from looking disjointed and maintains a polished appearance.
  • Strengthens Branding : Using consistent visuals that align with your company’s brand colors and fonts reinforces your identity.
  • Choose a visual theme and color scheme before you start designing your slides.
  • Stick to the same style of icons, fonts, and colors to maintain uniformity throughout the presentation.

Final Thoughts

Adding visuals to your technology PowerPoint presentations can enhance clarity, improve engagement, and make complex information more accessible. Whether you’re using diagrams, infographics, or animations, the key is to ensure that your visuals support your message and help your audience understand the technical content more effectively. Keep visuals consistent, relevant, and high-quality to create a polished, professional presentation.

Presentation Training Institute

A division of bold new directions training, the role of technology in presentations and how to use it effectively.

Technology can be a powerful tool for delivering a dynamic presentation and improving communication. In today’s digital world, the effective use of technology can have a significant impact on the success of a presentation. Whether you are presenting online or in person, using technology wisely can help you engage your audience, convey your message, and enhance the overall effectiveness of your presentation.

The Role of Technology

One of the key roles of technology in presentations is to enhance visual communication. Visual aids such as slides, images, videos, charts, and graphs can help convey complex information so it is easier for the audience to understand. Furthermore, presentation software tools allow presenters to create visually appealing slides that capture audience attention and make the presentation more memorable. In addition, technology also enables presenters to interact with the audience. By incorporating interactive elements such as polls, questionnaires, and quizzes, audience members can participate in the presentation in real-time. Finally, technology serves as a tool for facilitating remote presentations and virtual meetings. Technology allows presenters to reach a broader audience which has become essential for conducting presentations and meetings with participants in different locations.

Tips for Using Technology Effectively

1. choose the right tools.

Before you start creating your presentation, think about the tools you will need and how you plan to use them. For example, are you planning to use Prezi or PowerPoint to create an informative slideshow or do you plan to host a webinar? Think about the purpose of your presentation as well as the audience and the context in order to choose the appropriate tools that will allow you to deliver the most effective presentation.

2. Keep it Simple

Remember that your slides are not your presentation. Rather, they are visual aids meant to enhance your message. Therefore, you should design them to be clear and concise and avoid overwhelming the audience with too much information or distracting animations. Use a consistent font, color, and background and use bullet points to highlight your key points.

3. Use Multimedia Wisely

Make sure any images, videos, and audio clips that you use are relevant to your topic. They should be used only to support your message and not to distract from your main points.

4. Engage Your Audience

Technology can help you engage with your audience through interactive tools such as polls, quizzes, surveys, and Q&A sessions. You can also use chat, email, or social media to communicate with your audience before, during, and after your presentation.

5. Practice with Technology

Technology is great when it works properly, but mishaps do occur so you should never assume things will work as expected without testing it beforehand. The last thing you want is to deal with glitches, delays, or failures that can ruin your presentation.Familiarize yourself with features and functions of your tools and check your connection and equipment ahead of time.

10 Tips For Giving Effective Virtual Presentations

What to know before you go live.

September 26, 2016

As audiences go global and you need to reach more people through technology (including webinars, conference calls and teleconference), you must consider the challenges to connecting with a virtual audience. Here I pinpoint 10 valuable best practices to ensure you communicate successfully.

1. Be Brief

Audiences begin to lose attention after roughly 10 minutes of hearing from the same presenter. If you have more than 10 minutes of content, use interactive activities to keep your audience engaged (for example, take a poll, give quizzes, or ask audience members for their opinions via chat).

2. Be Simple

Keep slides simple — avoid too many words, graphics and animation features. Less is definitely more!

An illustration of a lamp

3. Be a TV Personality

Look straight into your camera, not the screen. Wear clothing that is neutral in color (no plaids or stripes). Light yourself well and from above. Be mindful of what appears behind you in the background. Invest in a good microphone.

4. Be Standing

Even though your audience cannot see you, stand when you present. This allows you to stay focused and use good presentation delivery skills such as belly breathing, vocal variety, and pausing.

5. Be Prepared

Practice delivering your presentation with your technology in advance of your talk. Make sure all of the features of the technology work. Record your practice using the recording feature of your tool. Watch and listen to learn what works and what you can improve.

6. Be Assisted

Have someone available to deal with technical issues and to field email/text questions. Also, if you have multiple remote audience members in one location, be sure to pick one of them to be your “eyes and ears.” Ask them to queue up questions and facilitate discussion on your behalf.

7. Be Specific

Ask pointed questions to avoid too many people answering at once. For example, rather than ask, “Are there any questions?” try “Who has a question about the solution I provided?” Set a ground rule that people state their names prior to speaking.

8. Be Synchronized

Transitions are critical. You must connect what you just said to what is coming next when you move from point to point. Transitions between topics and slides are good opportunities to get people reengaged to your talk.

9. Be Connected

Imagine your audience even though you can’t see them. You can place pictures of audience members behind your camera so you can look at people as you present.

10. Be Early

Encourage your audience to access your call or webinar in advance of the start time so you can iron out any technical issues in advance and get them familiar with the technology.

Graphic Assets Library

When selecting the best tools for presentations, the visual capabilities and creative design elements should be a top consideration. Visme’s graphic library includes thousands of free icons, illustrations, stock photos, videos , 3D graphics , audio clips, charts and graphs to include in your presentations.

Best Presentation Software Visme

AI-Powered Tools

Visme comes with a wide variety of useful AI-powered tools, making it one of the best presentation software.

Let's start with the AI presentation maker . This advanced tool is engineered to make your presentation creation process as quick and efficient as possible.

To create a presentation using this tool, you only need to provide a text prompt outlining your requirements. The tool will then generate the slides, complete with text, images, illustrations and any other content you specify.

After that, you can use Visme's presentation tools to personalize the AI-generated slides and add the final touches.

Next up is the AI writer . This user-friendly tool is your key to overcoming writer's block and crafting engaging copy for your presentation. It can help you create layouts, edit and proofread text, summarize the content and much more. Explain to the AI writer what you want to generate, and it will take care of the rest.

Visme offers several AI image editing tools , including erase and replace, background remover, unblur, and upscaler. These tools can be used to edit the image content or enhance its quality. For example, you can use the Image Upscaler to resize your image without sacrificing quality, ensuring your visuals always look high-quality.

And as always, you just need to provide the right text prompts. Feel free to tweak the prompts as many times as you want until you achieve the perfect outcome.

Videos and GIFs

It's easy to insert or embed videos and GIFs inside a Visme presentation. This is another that makes Visme a powerful video presentation software .

To insert a video, upload a video from your computer or cloud storage and place it on a slide of your choosing. Once you’ve uploaded it, it’ll be in your Media library for future use.

If you don’t have videos of your own, Visme has hundreds of stock videos to choose from in lots of categories. Browse them by clicking the / shortcut on your keyboard and opening the videos tab.

Edit your videos with the integrated timeline feature. Trim video clips and customize playback settings. Resize the video on your slide easily by dragging the corner. Or you can resize any video into another shape for more flexibility.

GIFs are available through the Giphy integration, which you’ll find in the Media tab. These are a great choice when you want to make a meme-based presentation.

Take note that all presentations that have videos or GIFs in the slides must be shared as a live link or downloaded as HTML5 or MP4. If you download it as a PDF or PPTX, all the interactive elements won’t play back.

Adding audio to a presentation is easy on Visme. Either along with a video or as the audio on its own. You can also record a voice over.

Another great option is accessing our Presenter Studio to record a video of yourself presenting your content. You can turn on your camera or record audio only before sending a link to your audience. This is a great way to present asynchronously or save your presentation for people to view again and again.

Embed Third-Party Content

There is more content that can be embedded into Visme presentations, like polls, quizzes , forms , online videos and any content that can be turned into code to insert in an iframe.

The 10 Best Presentation Tools for Students in 2023

technology visual presentation

Presentation tools for students have come a long way.

Students have access to all sorts of digital presentation tools, from legacy slide-based tools like PowerPoint to truly inventive and experimental new formats that incorporate live and prerecorded video and audio. The rise in virtual, hybrid, and flipped classrooms has made the need for education-focused online presentation tools for students all the greater.

Wondering which tools will help your students create the best presentations? We’ve shown you tools before, like 20 classroom technology tools you may not know , but many of those were teacher-focused. Here are 10 of the best student presentation tools your kiddos can use in 2023. And listen to this episode of EdTech Heroes with Sultan Rana to see how you can revolutionize presentations for students this year!

Importance of students learning to use a range of presentation tech tools 🎬

Before we get into this list, it’s fair to ask: Is it really all that important for students to get comfortable using technology-based presentation tools? 🤔

We believe the answer is an emphatic “Yes!”

The modern world we live in already depends on all sorts of tech and that dependence will only increase. Today’s students are tomorrow’s adults, and it’s vital they develop media literacy skills now. This is behind the push for digital citizenship , or teaching children to use tech safely and responsibly so they can effectively participate in society in the future.

Many students are already comfortable navigating smartphone apps, video games, smart TVs, and social media. But throw a PowerPoint or other business tool in front of them, and it’s another story. They aren’t technology averse. But neither are they automatically comfortable with all the different software and user interfaces that they’ll encounter in the professional and business world.

As the world grows more technologically complex 🤖, the professionals of tomorrow need exposure today to the language of technology.

By engaging with a range of presentation tools — along with edtech tools like Google Classroom and other LMS platforms — students gain a more well-rounded understanding of how to interact with productivity-oriented tech. They learn how to communicate their ideas and collaborate across physical and virtual spaces with ease.

With that question answered, let’s jump into the top 10 student presentation tools that will support your students’ tech skills and overall growth.

1. Screencastify Submit

Screencastify Submit does many things. It allows teachers to create presentation assignments for students. It also allows students to easily record and submit these short video assignments on any device. It’s a great way to practice giving live presentations without the pressure of an audience, plus it helps students gain skills with talking and presenting on camera. 🎥

Another advantage for students: Students can practice their presentation skills and wait to submit until they’ve recorded their favorite take.

Screencastify Submit is simple because it’s designed to be a secure, closed system between teachers and students. However, the broader Screencastify suite — one of the top Google Chrome extensions for educators and students — has plenty of integrations with popular LMSes and edtech platforms.

2. PowerPoint and Google Slides

Two of the classic slide-building apps, PowerPoint and Google Slides feel very traditional compared to many of the other tools listed here. Still, both apps are easy introductions to the concept of creating basic 2D designs and visually appealing presentations. PowerPoint Presentations and Google Slides allow students to create slideshow content with transitions, animations, multiple slide layouts, and more.

These presentation software solutions help students prioritize the information that’s most useful to their audience and hone the ability to present that material in a visually engaging way. They can also be used in conjunction with screencasting or screen sharing to present in a more live or interactive manner.

These apps are both widespread and integrate seamlessly with a variety of tools. For Apple users, Keynote is another option in this same style, but it’s limited to only macOS and iOS, making it less widely adopted.

Note that Google Slides is free for everyone with a Gmail account, but PowerPoint requires an individual subscription or a school-wide license.

3. Prezi Next

The original Prezi was like a cooler, snappier version of PowerPoint. It did away with the feeling that every slide was a static rectangular image and let users create presentations that felt more like unique little worlds 🌍  than like conference room snooze-fests 😴 .

Unfortunately, it was built on Adobe Flash, which is dead and gone .

Prezi Next is the new generation of Prezi, built fresh in HTML5. It keeps the feel of the original and enables students to produce creative, imaginative presentations full of both whimsy and functionality. Templates in Prezi Next allow students to be creative, detailed, and look great in the process.

Prezi also integrates with major video conferencing apps like Google Meet and Zoom, allowing students to present their Prezi live.

4. Haiku Deck

Haiku Deck is another slide-based presentation app. It’s entirely cloud-based, meaning you can access Haiku Deck from the web. The big differentiator with Haiku Deck is its automated image search. The app intelligently analyzes the text that your students add to their slides, then it suggests photos and slide designs that make sense for that text.

Haiku Deck gives users access to over 40 million royalty-free images (meaning no more watermarks or pixelated backgrounds) and includes dozens of themes designed by pros, complete with complementary fonts picked out for each one.

Haiku Deck is mostly a standalone tool. So, while you don’t get deep integrations with other tools, you might not really need them.

5. Pear Deck

Before they ever explain what Pear Deck is, the team behind Pear Deck points to research showing that learning has both social, emotional and academic components and goes into great detail about the research-backed instructional strategies that the platform supports.

So, this tool comes from a team that’s dedicated to improving educational outcomes for all kinds of learners. But what does it do, exactly?

Essentially, Pear Deck operates as an add-on to Google Slides or PowerPoint and allows you to turn those static presentation tools into dynamic, interactive educational experiences. You can embed quizzes, tutorials, and other interactive content and see student responses in real time.

Although it’s aimed at teachers, it can be used by students to enhance their own presentations with engaging content like Q&A or audio and video, and gives them more creative freedom.

Sutori is a tool that’s purpose built to help students create timelines and roadmaps and tell stories. It’s simple and streamlined, making it easy for students of all ages to use. Students can even embed media on their Sutori timelines, and Sutori is easy to use online and via remote learning.

Sutori’s timeline focus makes it perfect for social studies or history and any other linear, time-based lessons. The company also lists use cases for English, Language, Arts, and STEM teachers. It’s a great tool for fostering multimedia collaboration, critical thinking (via both primary and secondary sources), and research skills.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words 📸, and if that’s true, how much more is an infographic worth? A lot, when it comes to the classroom. Infographics are great storytelling tools, not to mention visual aids. The trouble is that making great infographics from scratch have required graphic design skills🧑‍💻  — until tools like Easelly.

Easelly lets anyone make quality infographics in a wide range of styles. Students can better visualize data and content, which is great both for their own critical thinking and logic skills as well as their public presentation skills.

Easelly includes numerous templates that make it easy to transform content from dry text and statistics into beautiful infographics.

Easelly doesn’t directly integrate with other tools, but infographics created in Easelly can easily (hence the name) be exported to other tools to be shared or presented.

8. Glogster

Glogster is a tool for creating multimedia posters that can include 3D elements. Students can embed a wide range of media into a Glogster, including screencast videos, graphics, images, audio, and even 3D and VR objects.

Glogster is somewhat like an oversized poster board to make a class project or report, but also interactive and zoomable. It’s a digital canvas that makes just about anything visual possible, all within one space.

Students can practice their visual storytelling skills and get comfortable navigating and embedding multiple media types with Glogster.

9. VoiceThread

VoiceThread is a unique tool that lets users collaborate and discuss just about anything: videos, images, documents and more using features like annotations, highlights, pausing, zooming. It’s essentially a media-focused video chat tool.

In the K-12 landscape, VoiceThread is great for students who want to share a specific media file with others and collaborate either in discussion or in a Q&A after a presentation. Viewers can add video comments and questions directly to a presentation, giving a more personal level of engagement especially for fully remote classrooms. Students can develop great conversational and presentation skills using VoiceThread, too.

Miro is a visual collaboration tool designed primarily for teams to get work done. In other words, it’s a business-focused digital whiteboard tool that has a lot of value for classrooms too.

Students (and teachers) can use it for idea mapping 🗺, brainstorming, creating workflows or diagrams, and all sorts of other visual collaboration and presentation needs.

It’s great for group projects where students might want to get a bunch of ideas mapped out prior to creating their polished presentation in another tool. Miro also has some effective templates that can help students work quickly.

Because it’s a business tool, Miro has all kinds of integrations with all the top business apps. Some of these are useful in education, such as Zoom, Google drive, and Microsoft Teams integrations.

Find out why students and teachers love Screencastify 🍎

Screencastify is fantastic for any teacher who needs to create screencast videos quickly and easily. But it’s great for students, too!

Students can use Screencastify Submit to easily create video responses to their teachers’ assignments, using the desktop, laptop, or mobile device they have at home. Older students can even use Screencastify themselves to create their own screencast presentations for virtual reports, class presentations, and more.

  • How we test

We list the best presentation software, to make it simple and easy to make and manage slideshow presentations to display to an audience.

Presentation software runs at the heart of business sales, management, and development, so it's important to ensure you have the best presentation software for your needs. This is especially when looking to share ideas, concepts, and workflows, and the ability to present these in a simple and understandable way is essential.

However, while presentation software has been traditionally limited to text and images, it has widened its ability to work with different media such as video and audio.

Therefore it's important for the best presentation software to not simply be easy and simple to use, but also be able to support additional media so that presentations can be more engaging, lively, and ultimately serve their purpose in educating and updating their intended audience.

Below we've listed the best presentation software currently on the market.

We've also listed the best free presentation software .

The best office software in the world is: Microsoft 365

The best office software in the world is: Microsoft 365 There are many different office software suites out there, but Microsoft Office remains the original and best, offering an unsurpassed range of features and functionality that rivals just can't match.

Even better, Microsoft 365 - previously branded as Office 365 - is a cloud-based solution which means you can use it on any computer, mobile device, or smartphone, without having to worry about compatibility. All your files are saved in the cloud and synced between devices, so you can begin work on a document at home or in the office, then continue working on it on the go.

You can sign up to Microsoft 365 here .

Best presentation software overall

Microsoft PowerPoint website screenshot

1. PowerPoint

Our expert review:

Reasons to buy

For most people, Microsoft 's PowerPoint remains the original and best of all the presentation software platforms out there. While other companies have managed to catch up and offer rival products worthy of consideration, the fact is that PowerPoint's familiar interface and ubiquitous availability means it remains a favorite for the majority of people.

On the one hand, it's long been a staple of the hugely popular Microsoft Office suite, meaning that for most users this is going to be the first - and last - presentation software they are going to need to use.

Additionally, Microsoft has made PowerPoint, along with their other office products, available as free apps (with limited functionality) on both iOS and Android for mobile use, meaning it's even harder to avoid them. And this is before we even consider the inclusion of PowerPoint in Microsoft's cloud-based Microsoft 365.

It does everything necessary that you'd expect of presentation software, allowing you to add text and media to a series of slides, to accompany a talk and other presentations. There are easy-to-use templates included to help spice things up a little, but even a general user with little experience of it is likely to find themselves able to use PowerPoint without much trouble at all.

Overall, it's hard to go wrong with PowerPoint, and although Microsoft 365 has a nominal cost, the apps are free to use even if they do have more limited functionality.

Reasons to avoid.

It’s all too easy to end up creating a presentation that’s unappealing, and the last thing you want to do is make the audience fall asleep. SlideDog lets you combine almost any type of media to create a rich presentation that’s sure to keep the viewers’ peepers open, avoiding the ‘cookie cutter’ look that makes presentations seem dull.

Marketed as a web-based multimedia presentation tool, it gives you the ability to combine PowerPoint presentations, graphics, PDF files, Prezi presentations, web pages, pictures, videos, and movie clips. You can drag these into custom playlists and display them to your audience with ease.

You’re able to remotely control your presentations and playlists from your smartphone, the web, or a secondary computer, and there’s also the option to share slides in real-time. Audience members can even view your slide from their own devices by clicking a link. That’s a handy feature if you’re looking to create an immersive presentation experience.

SlideDog is probably the cheapest of the presentation software featured, with a free account that will cover the essential features. However, for live sharing and premium support, you need to upgrade.

Best unique presentation software

Prezi website screenshot

Prezi is one of the more unique presentation tools. Instead of presenting your graphics and text in a slide-to-slide format, you can create highly visual and interactive presentation canvases with the goal of “emphasizing the relationship between the ideas”.

Presentations can also be tailored to the specific audience, as this is a flexible platform that’s capable of skipping ahead, or veering off into a side topic, without having to flip through all the slides to get to a particular bit.

For business users, there are a variety of handy tools available. By downloading Prezi , you can build and edit presentations with your colleagues in real-time, which is perfect for companies with teams based around the globe.

When you have created a presentation you’re happy with, you can present it live (in HD) and send a direct link to viewers. There are some analysis tools here, too – you can see who’s accessed your presentation, which parts of it, and for how long. The app is available for Mac and Windows devices.

Best presentation software for branding

CustomShow website screenshot

4. CustomShow

Branding says a lot about a business, and it’s something firms need to get right from day one – from a good logo to a suitable font. CustomShow is business presentation software that puts all these elements of branding first.

Using the system, you can design and present customized, branded presentations that reflect your company and the products you offer, featuring the aforementioned logo and custom fonts. As well as this, you get a slide library and analytics to ensure your presentations are a success.

What’s more, you can import presentations into the software, and use it to tweak them further. There’s also integration with SalesForce , and because the platform is cloud-based, you can access your presentations on computers, tablets, and smartphones.

Considering the focus on branding, this offering could be good for marketing and sales teams, and it's used by major companies such as HBO and CBS Interactive.

Best presentation software for marketing

ClearSlide website screenshot

5. ClearSlide

Just like CustomShow, ClearSlide has a niche focus for companies. The platform is targeted at firms looking to generate successful marketing campaigns, pushing sales via presentations (and more), not least through a range of analytics and metrics to work for sales and marketing.

With the product, you can upload a range of files, including PowerPoint, Keynote, PDF, and Excel. ClearSlide is integrated with other platforms, including Google Drive, Dropbox, and Salesforce.

This system is pretty complex and may offer too many irrelevant features for some businesses, but you can create customized content that reflects your company and the message you’re trying to get out to customers. There are also some good metrics and analysis features, and you can sign up for a free trial before making any decisions.

The real strength of ClearSlide comes from its focus on sales and marketing data, not least being able to track user engagement alongside other metrics.

Best presentation software for themes

Haiku Deck website screenshot

6. Haiku Deck

Any presentation app will allow you to personalize your slides to at least some extent, but Haiku Deck goes one step further than the competition. It comes with a wide range of themes suited to different needs, and you also get access to 40 million free images from the Creative Commons collection.

When it comes to creating a presentation, you have the option to do so on the web, which means your presentation is accessible across a range of mobile devices as well as desktops. Regardless of the device used, you’re able to select from a variety of different fonts, layouts, and filters to make the perfect presentation.

The great thing about these various customization options is that they’re categorized into different industries and use cases. For instance, you’ll find themes for teaching, cooking, real estate, and startups. Most of the features require you to be online, but hopefully, you’ll have a sturdy net connection wherever you go.

Other presentation software to consider

Google Slides  is part of the Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) office platform intended as an online alternative to Microsoft Office. It may seem a little limited by comparison to PowerPoint, but as it's browser-based that means cross-platform compatibility. Additionally, it allows for collaborative work, and Google Slides really works well here. On top of the fact that it integrates with the rest of the Google Workspace apps, not least Google Drive, and you have a contender.

Zoho Show  is another of the many, many tools and apps that Zoho has made available for business use. It also operates in the cloud so it's accessible to any device with a browser, and it also allows for collaborative work. You can also easily share the link for users to download, or provide a live presentation online. The updated version has a simpler and easier to use interface and comes with a free version and a paid-for one with expanded features.

Evernote  is normally thought of as just note-taking software, but it does provide the option to create a presentation you can share online or with an audience. In that regard, it's a little more limited than the other options in not being dedicated presentation software. However, as an easy and handy way to pull together a presentation quickly, it could serve as a backup or last-minute option, especially if Evernote is already being commonly used by you.

LibreOffice Impress  is part of the open-source suite offered as a free alternative to Microsoft Office, and comes with a powerful array of tools and editing options for your presentation, not least working with 3D images. It's supported by a large community, so it's easy to find an array of additional templates. If there is a limitation it's that it's software you download and install rather than web-based, but any presentations created should be easily portable to the web if needed.

Adobe Spark  does things a bit differently, as rather than just use images it's geared toward video as well. This makes for potentially more powerful multimedia presentations, especially as Adobe also has a big selection of photos and images available for its users. There is a free tier for core features but requires a subscription for custom branding, personalized themes, and support.

Slides  comes with a lot of features in an easy-to-use interface, and involves setting up presentations using drag and drop into an existing grid. It's also internet-based so there's no software to download, and it only requires a browser to use and access.

Presentation software FAQs

Which presentation software is best for you.

When deciding which presentation software to download and use, first consider what your actual needs are, as sometimes free platforms may only provide basic options, so if you need to use advanced tools you may find a paid platform is much more worthwhile. Additionally, free and budget software options can sometimes prove limited when it comes to the variety of tools available, while higher-end software can really cater for every need, so do ensure you have a good idea of which features you think you may require for your presentation needs.

How we tested the best presentation software

To test for the best presentation software we first set up an account with the relevant software platform, whether as a download or as an online service. We then tested the service to see how the software could be used for different purposes and in different situations. The aim was to push each software platform to see how useful its basic tools were and also how easy it was to get to grips with any more advanced tools.

How To Inspire Curious Employees Through A Compelling Presentation

We’ve all been there—trying to present another initiative to employees, only to be met with blank stares and disinterested expressions. Getting people excited about cultural change isn’t easy, especially when they feel like they’ve heard it all before. But if you want to break through the noise and make a real impact, you need to do more than just deliver another talk. You need to create an experience that wakes people up, gets them thinking, and makes them want to lean in.

Use Interactive Stories to Break Status-Quo Thinking in the Workplace

When I talk about building a culture of curiosity, I don’t just tell people what needs to change—I show them why it matters. One story I often share is about a woman who found herself unknowingly part of a social experiment at an eye doctor’s office . The setup was simple: a bell would ring, and the people around her—who were actually actors—would stand up and sit down each time. It didn’t take long before she started following suit, perfectly conforming to the group behavior without ever questioning why. This phenomenon, known as social learning, highlights how quickly we can fall into status-quo thinking and go along with what everyone else is doing.

To bring this idea to life, I don’t just tell the story—I get the audience involved. I bring a bell to my presentations and have everyone stand up whenever it rings, just like the woman in the waiting room. Suddenly, you can see the realization on their faces as they experience for themselves how easy it is to slip into conformity without even noticing. This simple exercise breaks through the monotony and makes the lesson stick. It’s not just a presentation; it’s an experience that gets people laughing, thinking, and—most importantly—questioning.

Get to the “What’s In It for Me?” Right Away

People need to see the value of curiosity, not just hear about it. When I talk to teams about moving away from status-quo thinking, I make it clear how curiosity benefits them personally. It’s about making their jobs more engaging, unlocking creative solutions, and fostering a more dynamic work environment. Real-life examples from companies that have embraced curiosity show that teams who ask more questions don’t just find more innovative solutions—they also enjoy their work more.

Break Down the Barriers: Tackle FATE (Fear, Assumptions, Technology, and Environment)

Understanding what blocks curiosity is essential to fostering it. That’s where the concept of FATE comes in: Fear, Assumptions, Technology, and Environment . In my talks, I break down each of these factors and share practical ways to overcome them. For example, fear stops people from speaking up; assumptions make us blind to new possibilities. To push past these, I encourage asking questions like, “What if we’re wrong?” or “What haven’t we considered?”

Engage the Audience: Make It a Conversation, Not a Lecture

No one wants to sit through a dull monologue. I always make sure to turn my talks into a conversation by asking open-ended questions and prompting discussions. This keeps people engaged and encourages them to think on their feet. When people share their own experiences of when curiosity led to a breakthrough—or when a lack of it caused problems—it builds a sense of community and drives home the importance of a curious mindset.

Close with a Call to Action That Energizes and Excites

End with a strong call to action that challenges your audience to do one thing differently. Whether it’s asking a new question in a meeting, suggesting a bold idea, or simply challenging an old assumption, encourage them to start small but think big. The goal is to make them feel excited about bringing curiosity into their work and see how it can transform not just their own roles, but the entire organization.

The Bottom Line: Make Your Talk the Spark that Ignites Curiosity

So, go ahead and ring that bell, share that story, and don’t be afraid to shake things up. If you can get your employees thinking, laughing, and questioning, you’ve already won. When a talk turns into something more—an experience that gets everyone buzzing with ideas and possibilities—you’re not just changing minds. You’re setting the stage for a culture that’s more engaged, innovative, and ready to take on whatever comes next. And let’s be honest, that makes delivering your presentation a whole lot more fun too.

When it comes to presentations, versatility is the name of the game. Having a variety of presentation styles up your sleeve can make a world of difference in keeping your audience engaged. Here are 8 essential presentation types that every presenter should be well-acquainted with:

1. Informative presentation

Ever sat through a presentation that left you feeling enlightened? That’s the power of an informative presentation.

This presentation style is all about sharing knowledge and shedding light on a particular topic. Whether you’re diving into the depths of quantum physics or explaining the intricacies of the latest social media trends, informative presentations aim to increase the audience’s understanding.

When delivering an informative presentation, simplify complex topics with clear visuals and relatable examples. Organize your content logically, starting with the basics and gradually delving deeper and always remember to keep jargon to a minimum and encourage questions for clarity.

Academic presentations and research presentations are great examples of informative presentations. An effective academic presentation involves having clear structure, credible evidence, engaging delivery and supporting visuals. Provide context to emphasize the topic’s significance, practice to perfect timing, and be ready to address anticipated questions.

2. Persuasive presentation

If you’ve ever been swayed by a passionate speaker armed with compelling arguments, you’ve experienced a persuasive presentation .

This type of presentation is like a verbal tug-of-war, aiming to convince the audience to see things from a specific perspective. Expect to encounter solid evidence, logical reasoning and a dash of emotional appeal.

With persuasive presentations, it’s important to know your audience inside out and tailor your message to their interests and concerns. Craft a compelling narrative with a strong opening, a solid argument and a memorable closing. Additionally, use visuals strategically to enhance your points.

Examples of persuasive presentations include presentations for environmental conservations, policy change, social issues and more. Here are some engaging presentation templates you can use to get started with:

3. Demonstration or how-to presentation

A Demonstration or How-To Presentation is a type of presentation where the speaker showcases a process, technique, or procedure step by step, providing the audience with clear instructions on how to replicate the demonstrated action.

A demonstrative presentation is particularly useful when teaching practical skills or showing how something is done in a hands-on manner.

These presentations are commonly used in various settings, including educational workshops, training sessions, cooking classes, DIY tutorials, technology demonstrations and more. Designing creative slides for your how-to presentations can heighten engagement and foster better information retention.

Speakers can also consider breaking down the process into manageable steps, using visual aids, props and sometimes even live demonstrations to illustrate each step. The key is to provide clear and concise instructions, engage the audience with interactive elements and address any questions that may arise during the presentation.

4. Training or instructional presentation

Training presentations are geared towards imparting practical skills, procedures or concepts — think of this as the more focused cousin of the demonstration presentation.

Whether you’re teaching a group of new employees the ins and outs of a software or enlightening budding chefs on the art of soufflé-making, training presentations are all about turning novices into experts.

To maximize the impact of your training or instructional presentation, break down complex concepts into digestible segments. Consider using real-life examples to illustrate each point and create a connection.

You can also create an interactive presentation by incorporating elements like quizzes or group activities to reinforce understanding.

5. Sales presentation

Sales presentations are one of the many types of business presentations and the bread and butter of businesses looking to woo potential clients or customers. With a sprinkle of charm and a dash of persuasion, these presentations showcase products, services or ideas with one end goal in mind: sealing the deal.

A successful sales presentation often has key characteristics such as a clear value proposition, strong storytelling, confidence and a compelling call to action. Hence, when presenting to your clients or stakeholders, focus on benefits rather than just features.

Anticipate and address potential objections before they arise and use storytelling to showcase how your offering solves a specific problem for your audience. Utilizing visual aids is also a great way to make your points stand out and stay memorable.

A sales presentation can be used to promote service offerings, product launches or even consultancy proposals that outline the expertise and industry experience of a business. Here are some template examples you can use for your next sales presentation:

6. Pitch presentation

Pitch presentations are your ticket to garnering the interest and support of potential investors, partners or stakeholders. Think of your pitch deck as your chance to paint a vivid picture of your business idea or proposal and secure the resources you need to bring it to life.

Business presentations aside, individuals can also create a portfolio presentation to showcase their skills, experience and achievements to potential clients, employers or investors.

Craft a concise and compelling narrative. Clearly define the problem your idea solves and how it stands out in the market. Anticipate questions and practice your answers. Project confidence and passion for your idea.

7. Motivational or inspirational presentation

Feeling the need for a morale boost? That’s where motivational presentations step in. These talks are designed to uplift and inspire, often featuring personal anecdotes, heartwarming stories and a generous serving of encouragement.

Form a connection with your audience by sharing personal stories that resonate with your message. Use a storytelling style with relatable anecdotes and powerful metaphors to create an emotional connection. Keep the energy high and wrap up your inspirational presentations with a clear call to action.

Inspirational talks and leadership presentations aside, a motivational or inspirational presentation can also be a simple presentation aimed at boosting confidence, a motivational speech focused on embracing change and more.

8. Status or progress report presentation

Projects and businesses are like living organisms, constantly evolving and changing. Status or progress report presentations keep everyone in the loop by providing updates on achievements, challenges and future plans. It’s like a GPS for your team, ensuring everyone stays on track.

Be transparent about achievements, challenges and future plans. Utilize infographics, charts and diagrams to present your data visually and simplify information. By visually representing data, it becomes easier to identify trends, make predictions and strategize based on evidence.

Now that you’ve learned about the different types of presentation methods and how to use them, you’re on the right track to creating a good presentation that can boost your confidence and enhance your presentation skills .

Selecting the most suitable presentation style is akin to choosing the right outfit for an occasion – it greatly influences how your message is perceived. Here’s a more detailed guide to help you make that crucial decision:

1. Define your objectives

Begin by clarifying your presentation’s goals. Are you aiming to educate, persuade, motivate, train or perhaps sell a concept? Your objectives will guide you to the most suitable presentation type.

For instance, if you’re aiming to inform, an informative presentation would be a natural fit. On the other hand, a persuasive presentation suits the goal of swaying opinions.

2. Know your audience

Regardless if you’re giving an in-person or a virtual presentation — delve into the characteristics of your audience. Consider factors like their expertise level, familiarity with the topic, interests and expectations.

If your audience consists of professionals in your field, a more technical presentation might be suitable. However, if your audience is diverse and includes newcomers, an approachable and engaging style might work better.

technology visual presentation

3. Analyze your content

Reflect on the content you intend to present. Is it data-heavy, rich in personal stories or focused on practical skills? Different presentation styles serve different content types.

For data-driven content, an informative or instructional presentation might work best. For emotional stories, a motivational presentation could be a compelling choice.

4. Consider time constraints

Evaluate the time you have at your disposal. If your presentation needs to be concise due to time limitations, opt for a presentation style that allows you to convey your key points effectively within the available timeframe. A pitch presentation, for example, often requires delivering impactful information within a short span.

5. Leverage visuals

Visual aids are powerful tools in presentations. Consider whether your content would benefit from visual representation. If your PowerPoint presentations involve step-by-step instructions or demonstrations, a how-to presentation with clear visuals would be advantageous. Conversely, if your content is more conceptual, a motivational presentation could rely more on spoken words.

technology visual presentation

6. Align with the setting

Take the presentation environment into account. Are you presenting in a formal business setting, a casual workshop or a conference? Your setting can influence the level of formality and interactivity in your presentation. For instance, a demonstration presentation might be ideal for a hands-on workshop, while a persuasive presentation is great for conferences.

7. Gauge audience interaction

Determine the level of audience engagement you want. Interactive presentations work well for training sessions, workshops and small group settings, while informative or persuasive presentations might be more one-sided.

8. Flexibility

Stay open to adjusting your presentation style on the fly. Sometimes, unexpected factors might require a change of presentation style. Be prepared to adjust on the spot if audience engagement or reactions indicate that a different approach would be more effective.

Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and the best type of presentation may vary depending on the specific situation and your unique communication goals. By carefully considering these factors, you can choose the most effective presentation type to successfully engage and communicate with your audience.

To save time, use a presentation software or check out these presentation design and presentation background guides to create a presentation that stands out.

technology visual presentation

What are some effective ways to begin and end a presentation?

Capture your audience’s attention from the start of your presentation by using a surprising statistic, a compelling story or a thought-provoking question related to your topic.

To conclude your presentation , summarize your main points, reinforce your key message and leave a lasting impression with a powerful call to action or a memorable quote that resonates with your presentation’s theme.

How can I make my presentation more engaging and interactive?

To create an engaging and interactive presentation for your audience, incorporate visual elements such as images, graphs and videos to illustrate your points visually. Share relatable anecdotes or real-life examples to create a connection with your audience.

You can also integrate interactive elements like live polls, open-ended questions or small group discussions to encourage participation and keep your audience actively engaged throughout your presentation.

Which types of presentations require special markings

Some presentation types require special markings such as how sales presentations require persuasive techniques like emphasizing benefits, addressing objections and using compelling visuals to showcase products or services.

Demonstrations and how-to presentations on the other hand require clear markings for each step, ensuring the audience can follow along seamlessly.

That aside, pitch presentations require highlighting unique selling points, market potential and the competitive edge of your idea, making it stand out to potential investors or partners.

Welcome PlayStation 5 Pro, the most visually impressive way to play games on PlayStation

Welcome PlayStation 5 Pro, the most visually impressive way to play games on PlayStation

Features including GPU upgrade, advanced ray tracing, and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution take players to new heights.

UPDATE:  On September 26, 2024, pre-orders will be available directly from PlayStation at  direct.playstation.com  and at participating retailers in territories where direct.playstation.com isn’t available. On October 10, 2024, pre-orders will be available at all other participating retailers.

Over the last four years since the launch of PS5, we’ve worked hard to continuously evolve the console experience and deliver the great games our players expect from us. Today, I’m incredibly proud to announce the next step in that evolution and welcome PlayStation 5 Pro to the PlayStation family – our most advanced and innovative console hardware to date.

We developed PS5 Pro with deeply engaged players and game creators in mind – as many have asked for a console that runs even higher fidelity graphics with smoother frame rates at 60FPS. We achieved this on PS5 Pro with several key performance features.*

  • Upgraded GPU : With PS5 Pro, we are upgrading to a GPU that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay, making the experience much smoother.
  • Advanced Ray Tracing : We’ve added even more powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds of the current PS5 console.
  • AI-Driven Upscaling : We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.

PS5 Pro provides gamers with amazing graphics at high frame rates. You can hear Mark Cerny, lead architect for PS5 Pro, discuss the key innovations from PS5 Pro in the following video presentation. This presentation provides a deep dive into the key performance features that make PS5 Pro truly special.

Other enhancements include PS5 Pro Game Boost, which can apply to more than 8,500 backward compatible PS4 games playable on PS5 Pro. This feature may stabilize or improve the performance of supported PS4 and PS5 games. Enhanced Image Quality for PS4 games is also available to improve the resolution on select PS4 games. PS5 Pro will also launch with the latest wireless technology, Wi-Fi 7, in territories supporting this standard. VRR and 8K gaming are also supported.

It’s humbling to see how game creators have embraced the latest technology from PS5 Pro, and several games will be patched with free software updates for gamers to take advantage of PS5 Pro’s features. These games can be identified with a PS5 Pro Enhanced label within their title. Some games you can look forward to include blockbuster hits from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, such as Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and more.

We kept the look of the PS5 Pro consistent with the overall PS5 family of products. You’ll notice the height is the same size as the original PS5, and the width is the same size as the current PS5 model to accommodate higher performance specs. Players can add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, or swap out console covers when they become available.

PS5 Pro fits perfectly within the PS5 family of products and is compatible with the PS5 accessories currently available, including PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access controller, Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore. The user interface and network services will also remain the same as PS5.

The PS5 Pro console will be available this holiday at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY (includes tax). It will include a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom pre-installed in every PS5 Pro purchase. PS5 Pro is available as a disc-less console, with the option to purchase the currently available Disc Drive for PS5 separately.

PS5 Pro will launch on November 7, 2024 and will be available at participating retailers and directly from PlayStation at direct.playstation.com. Preorders will begin on September 26, 2024.

Our PS5 journey would not be possible without the millions of players that have supported us through the years and have shared with us their love of gaming. Whichever console option players choose, whether it’s PS5 or PS5 Pro, we wish to bring everyone the very best gaming experience that fits their needs.

*Features only available on select PS5 games that have been enhanced for PS5 Pro when compared with the PS5. PS5 Pro enhanced features will vary by game.
