I have been engaged in research on health education and health promotion for children and adolescents. Currently, I am the Chair Holder of the UNESCO Chair on Global Health and Education (Peking University), Chairman of the School Branch of the Chinese Association for Health Promotion and Education, the deputy head of the National Expert Group on AIDS Prevention and Health Education in Schools, and the member of the National Expert Pool of Health Science Popularization. As the leader, I have presided over a number of projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, and the United Nations Children's Fund. I have published 175 academic papers as the first or corresponding author, and edited 15 books and textbooks. I am the chief editor of the twelfth set of compulsory education Physical Education and Health textbooks of the People’s Education Press. My courses AIDS, Sexuality and Health and Health Education for College Students have been selected as the first national first-class undergraduate courses by the Ministry of Education in 2020. I have participated in the preparation of policy documents such as Guidelines on Integrating Life Safety and Health Education into Primary and Secondary School Curriculum and Textbooks and Guidelines for Student Nutrition and Healthy Schools, as well as international documents such as International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education and Making Every School a Health-promoting School: Global Standards and Indicators, and Implementation Guidance. I was awarded the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine, the Song Qingling Prize in Pediatrics, and the Star of Female Faculty and Staff of the Peking University Health Science Center.
