AKTU admissions to various UG programmes are offered based on CUET UG scores. The exams have already concluded and the results are expected to be released on June 30, 2024. Candidates who secure valid marks will be eligible to participate in UPTAC 2024 conducted by AKTU .

AKTU offers UG, PG, and, PhD courses in the disciplines of technology, pharmacy, architecture, management, etc. The university was previously known as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University and it has more than 750 colleges affiliated with it at present. The AKTU admission criteria for its flagship course, B.Tech, is based on the JEE Mains ranks followed by UPTAC Counselling. For various other UG and PG courses, candidates must qualify for the CUET UG and PG exams respectively and clear the counselling rounds conducted by AKTU.

The AKTU admission procedure varies for the UG, PG, and, PhD courses. The details about the admission process of the university are mentioned below. 

AKTU UG Admission Process

For admission to B.Tech and B.Arch courses at AKTU and the affiliated colleges, students need to register themselves on Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) portal. It must be noted that the B.Tech admission is based on JEE Main, while the admission to B.Arch courses is done through NATA. It is mandatory for the aspirants to appear for NATA and JEE Main first if they seek admission in these respective courses. Some other courses at the UG level are based on merit in the qualifying examination, while a few UG courses are on the basis of CUET UG.  For AKTU admission through JEE Mains, candidates must secure a good rank in the examination. 

AKTU PG Admission Process

Admission to some of the postgraduate courses is based on CUET PG, while a few courses offer seats to eligible students on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam. Only for MBA, the admissions are determined by the CMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA or XAT scores.

AKTU PhD Admission Process

Admission to the PhD programme is accomplished through a written entrance exam, followed by an interview round. The final merit list takes into account the candidates' performance in the written test and interview, as well as their previous qualifying examination marks. Students will be chosen based on their performance in the written test, followed by an interview and a presentation.

AKTU only offers PhD admission once a year in the July or August session. Students can apply both online and offline. The AKTU application form for offline mode can be downloaded from the official website. The application form must be completed and sent to the AKTU address along with all required documentation. Students can directly fill out and pay the desired application fee when using an online application form. The final application form received may be confirmed by the University's screening committee, which is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor.

Shortlisted students must present the following documents to the selection committee following the interview round:

• The non-refundable fee (as mentioned).
• Class 10 certificate as proof of date of birth.
• SC/ST/OBC certificate (if any)
• Certificate of No Objection from the current employer (if any)
• Financial assistance certificates and publications.
• A synopsis of the proposed research project or thesis.
• Two copies of the supervisor's detailed CV.
• Two letters of recommendation.

AKTU admission criteria vary from course to course. Apart from meeting the basic eligibility criteria, candidates are also required to attain good ranks in exams like JEE Mains, CUET UG, CUET PG, NATA, GATE, CAT, etc. The detailed eligibility criteria are mentioned in table below for the reference of aspiring candidates. 

AKTU Eligibility Criteria 2024

The application process to fill out the AKTU admission form 2024 will be held in online mode. Candidates aspiring for admission to any of the affiliated colleges of the university must apply online to the official website of AKTU. Apart from this, admission to various UG and PG courses is conducted through CUET admission process. The detailed steps for the application process are mentioned below. 

• Visit CUET's official website (cuet.samarth.ac.in).
• Click on the desired course's Application link.
• Now, register by providing information such as your name, email address, mobile number, and so on.
• Create a password for future logins during the registration process, and then click the 'Submit' button.
• After successfully registering, you will receive a registration number via email and mobile phone.
• Fill out the application form with every detail using the password and registration number.
• Upload scanned images of your signature and photograph.
• Pay the application fee now with a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
• Following payment, you will receive a message confirming successful payment to your email address and mobile number.

Note: After filling out the CUET application form, candidates are also required to fill out the AKTU admission form for the respective courses. 

AKTU Lucknow Counselling

Candidates must adhere to the UPTU counselling process, which is detailed below for their reference.

• Applications must be submitted online along with the necessary documentation in order to register for counselling sessions.
• They must pay the application fee in addition to the Rs 12,000 for SC and ST candidates and Rs 20,000 for general and OBC candidates.
• Following the document verification, candidates must fill out their options, which they can do in accordance with their preferences.
• Seats for AKTU admission 2024 will be allotted to students based on their performance in the counselling rounds.

AKTU B.Tech degree is available in 41 different specializations for a duration of four years. AKTU affiliated colleges also accept lateral entry (direct admission in second year) in all the B.Tech courses. The duration for the lateral entry course is three years.

AKTU conducts B.Tech admissions through JEE Main followed by UPTAC counselling. Applicants should have passed his or her 10+2 level exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

• Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST candidates.
• AKTU also accepts 20% of total sanctioned candidates on the basis of  JEE Main  as per the State Govt. norms.
• For lateral admission, candidates should have minimum 60% of marks in 3-4 years diploma or B.Sc from a recognized university sanctioned by U.P board of education.

AKTU B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

• Passed intermediate exam. of U.P. Board or 10+2 level exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University with minimum aggregate marks of 45% for General & OBC and 40% for SC/ST category in the subject groups, without grace marks.
• For B.Tech Lateral, candidates must have a 3 or 4 years’ Diploma (with minimum 60% marks) from institutions recognized by the U.P. Board of Technical Education in any branch of Engineering/Technology. Students with B.Sc degree are also eligible to apply.

Note:  Migration to AKTU from any other university is not permitted. However, a student of affiliated college/institution or college enrolled in any other university may be allowed to migrate to the university provided he/she fails.

NRI & Kashmiri Migrants Quota:  NRI quota will constitute of 5% of the total available seats. One seat will be offered for Kashmiri migrants (Son/Daughter of Kashmiri Migrants) in each institution.

In addition to B.Tech, AKTU also offers bachelor’s degree in different fields, namely B.Pharm, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD and BFA. The durations of B.Pharm, BHMCT, BFAD and BFA are 4 years. B.Pharm lateral entry requires three years to complete the course. The candidates applying for these courses are required to appear for the CUET UG  entrance exam conducted by NTA. Candidates interested in B.Pharm and B.Arch should have a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 level examination.

AKTU B.Pharm/ BHMCT/ B.Arch/ BFAD/ BFA Eligibility Criteria 

• For B.Pharm, candidate must have 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry and any one of the following Mathematics/ Bio-Technology/ Biology / Technical Vocational Subject.
• For B.Pharm LE, candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy, securing minimum aggregate marks of 45% for General & OBC and 40% for SC/ST category.
• For B.Arch, candidate must have passed 10+2 level exam or its equivalent with Physics & Mathematics and any one of the following Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Engineering Drawing / Technical Vocational subject from any recognized Board / University with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A candidate possessing three year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central/ State Govt., securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate can also apply.
• For BHMCT, BFAD & BFA, 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University and securing minimum 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate is required.

AKTU B.Pharm/ BHMCT/ B.Arch/ BFAD/ BFA Selection Criteria

Admission to UG courses at AKTU is done on the basis of scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test ( CUET UG ), conducted by NTA. For admission to the B.Arch program, candidates are required to appear in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) entrance examinations. The final selection of the candidates will be based on the UPTAC counselling process.

AKTU M.Tech/ M.Arch. Admission 2024

AKTU also offers the M.Tech course with specializations in 19 different subjects along with the M.Arch course. The duration of all the specialized M.Tech courses and M.Arch courses are four years and two years respectively.

Candidates should have passed their bachelor of engineering (B.E) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and must appear in the CUET PG examination. Those belonging to SC, ST, PwD categories must score at least 54% marks in aggregate. Candidates should be at least 16 years old to be eligible to enroll for M.Tech program.

AKTU M.Tech/ M.Arch Eligibility Criteria 

• For M.Tech, candidates must have a B.Tech/ B.E. degree.
• For M.Arch, and B.Arch degree is required. 

Candidates are intimated for the counselling process for M.Tech admission on the basis of CUET PG scores, AKTU entrance examination scores as well as qualifying degree examination marks, subject to availaibility of seats.

AKTU offers MCA, MBA and M.Pharm courses. Admission to all these courses are based on the CUET PG entrance examination conducted by NTA to get admission in the university. The final merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the entrance examination as well as in their previous qualifying examination.

AKTU MCA/ MBA/ M.Pharm Eligibility Criteria

• For MCA, candidates must have passed a bachelor’s degree course of minimum three years duration from any recognized university with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or graduate level. The candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST category.
• For MBA, Bachelor’s degree of minimum 03 years duration from any recognized university of India, passing clearly without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST category.
• For MCA LE, candidates must have passed a BCA / BSc (IT/CS) of minimum three years from any recognized Indian University or its Equivalent recognized by AIU, with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate plus having mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or Graduation level.
• For M.Pharm, students must have passed B.Pharm degree with 60% marks in aggregate.

Note:  Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates.

Ph.D programmes are offered by AKTU in various specializations. Admission to the Ph.D. course is through a written entrance test followed by the interview round. The final merit list is prepared considering the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview along with the marks obtained by them in their previous qualifying examination.

AKTU Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 

• Bachelor's and Master’s degree with first division in the field of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Management or Architecture.
• Bachelor's and Master’s degree with first division in the field of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Management or Architecture with at least two years of experience in Industry, Research or Teaching area.
• Students with MCA/M.Tech in Computer Science are also eligible to apply.
• Master degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with 60% marks in aggregate.

Ph.D Selection Process:  Students will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test followed by interview cum presentation.

Documents required at the time of Admission:  After the interview round, shortlisted students have to present the following documents after the selection committee:

• Non-refundable fee (as prescribed)
• Class 10th certificate in support of Date of Birth certificate
• SC/ST/OBC certificate (if applicable)
• No Objection Certificate from the current employer (if applicable)

Ph.D Application Form:  Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D prohgramme can apply by visiting the official website. AKTU offers Ph.D admission once in a year (i.e. in July/August session).

Students can apply in both Online or offline mode.  For offline mode , application form can be downloaded from the official website of AKTU. Application form must be filled & required to be sent to the University address with all the desired documents. In the case of  online application form , students can directly fill & pay the desired application fee.

Admissions are conducted via CUET for B.Tech, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, MBA, MCA & MAM programs along with the lateral entry. Step 1: To apply for AKTU counselling, aspirants need to register themselves on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling i.e uptac.admissions.nic.in by entering their application number and password. AKTU offers financial assistance to meritorious students of SC/ST & OBC category under the regulations of UP State Scholarship scheme. Every year, UP state releases the notification for fee reimbursement for the students of AKTU & its affiliated colleges. • I feel that the faculties of this college are best in delivering the concepts and as well as in nature, they are very supportive in all terms and are ready to help you out for any problem that you are facing in within the college regarding anything.
• They ground of the college which has flood lights, and in Ghaziabad it is the only college with the the flood lights in the ground. It is very convenient to practice in the ground for different sport activities and also it is maintained properly.
• There can be betterment in terms of number of Problem Solving/Coding classes.
• The badminton court if the hostels can be better cause they are slippery many a times.

I have also applied for the KIET(Ghaziabad), AKGEC(Ghaziabad), JSS(Noida) as well and got admission in ABES Engineering College (Ghaziabad). I was lucky that I was got allotted this college because it was better in terms of faculties, placements and facilities of hostels & definetly the location scenarios. The NIRF ranking of this college was also good. The Railway Station from this college is within 3 kms. I haven't got rejected form other colleges but yes they were not allotted to me because of less knowledge of counselling at that time but now I feel blessed to be in this college. There are two methods for taking admission to this college: 1. Direct Admission, 2. Admission through counselling. In direct admission in a computer science branch they require atleast 80% marks in PCM and in counselling process it depends upon the cutoff of the JEE-Mains examination(80-85 percentile minimum) and also on the counselling process of the AKTU. The admission experience was very good.

• The canteen was small but had good food and unlike other colleges food wasn't very costly either.
